I think that Andreas Evensen proved that he was being underated by everyone!
Give him his credit instead of slagging Burns off.
Burns has proved himself to be world level, fantastic boxer, I think he would be too big and too savvy for Mitchell.

fair comment about eversen he did suprise us all with his performance and he deserves the credit for it , as he did manage to cause burns alot of problems ,,weather it was a mixture of burns having a bad night and eversen performing better than usual is another story.

Seems like a nice lad, not so sure if he is world class to be honest. I would fancy Martinez if they were ever to fight again..

As being better than Mitchell :good

And unlike Mitchell keeps his bottle on the big stage. Will also beat Mitchell at LW if needed :deal

To me Ricky Burns should get nothing but credit, the win over Martinez was outstanding and Evenson was as fit as a flea, Burns still beat him convincingly.

I'm hoping now he's Champion he takes it to the next level in terms of honing his skills and natural ability.

I think Evenson will prove to be a better form-line than some are suggesting.

on what basis? :huh Burns spanked him last time, took him into the trenches and beat him at his own game, how could you possibly fancy Martinez to win the rematch?

I think he's a genuine nice guy, he comes across as one anyway. He works hard and took his opportunity with an excellent performance. He's not awesome, but he is very good. He's a boxer who can go twelve rounds. He must have a decent chin and recovery powers. He got his first title defence out of the way, but did not KO the opponent. Considering he's not a world class puncher that's not a problem. Billy will bring him along and hopefully do the best for him. I'd take some easy WBO defences every 3-4 months to cash in, and once his exposure is increased and people know his name go for a unification bout that he has a decent chance of winning, Fana springs to mind. The team need to try and capitalise outside the ring too, sponsorship, TV etc. I'd like to see him get a few 3-4 defences, or even better become a unified world champion. He won't currenty make huge money abroad, so he might as well fight at home for now. I'm actually interested to see how he does from now on.
    :good

Hey Billy, when are you planning Burns next bout for (roughly) and do you think he took the evenson fight to soon after Martinez. Also you said you plan on moving to lightweight, is that in the near future or are you gonna hang around and try and clean up the division first.

What Ricky would like and i agree is one more defence then a unification fight with fana for the WBO,IBF & Ring Magazine. Ricky has no issues making the weight at all and as a huge frame to build himself into a LW when the time is right.Ricky and nobody else will determine when that happens

I would say the best in the UK at superfeatherweight and lightweight easy man . I think he'd beat Murray man anyway and tbh I would rather see him against Katsidis than Mitchell. Katsidis Earl styles make fights Burns win a decision over Earl man and the Katsidis Earl fight was a war .Burns is pure boxer and they say boxer beats brawler any day .

i think burns is below the class of most world champions, but full credit to him he took his chance, he's champ and he's defended his title. i reckon mithcell would beat him and to be honest i'd love if there was an irish prospect at super feather because i think burns is there for the taking
