HBO has been building up Berto for years now but he hasnt gotten the opponent to bring out the best in him or get in the ring with a top guy. He had his chance vs Moseley but you cant fault him for withdrawing from that fight What if all the HBO hype comes to fruition on one night We dont know Berto's full potential he gets better every fight his last fight doesnt tell us too much However he had the timing speed accuracy and power to put that guy away like that Pac is not a hard guy to hit, Berto is pretty fast and can counter I think Berto is a great opponent if he cant get Floyd in the ring
I don't know why you put the word moot in quotes. It's a moot point because Pac and Berto are not just gonna stand in the middle of the ring and slug it out. Even if that's the strategy that Berto tries to implement (i doubt it) Pac will fight smarter than that. They won't just go in there and exchange punches. I've noticed about you that you very rarely understand the actual meaning of my posts. You often reply about something else and completely misunderstand.
And even if Berto has quick hands, I'm sure Pac can handle it. Just cause he never fought a Welterweight that quick doesn't mean he doesn't know how to. You gotta remember that Pac used to fight at 122 and 126 where everyone has very quick hands.
Anyone can exchange with PAC....it's just not good for their health...including Young Berto. problem is a lot of time if you don't want to exchange PAC FORCES the issue and you have no option but to Fight or Fold.
I would pick Berto to knock Pacquiao out period. It's boxing and all it takes is one punch and the fight could be over. Berto has speed, reflexes, and is a current champ so he has a good chance to upset Pacquiao. If he hurts Pacquiao he'd go in for the knockout. Pacquiao is being matched up with opponents that favor his style of fighting. Clottey, didn't even punch or fight like he wanted to win. Margarito? All he does is come forward and eat punches all day. I think Pacquiao is a great fighter but too many of his fans act like he can't be beaten even though he already has been before. Pacquiao can be hit and if he's in there with someone fast like Berto, anything could happen. Berto would knock Pacquiao out. They (team Pacquiao) won't match Pacquiao up against the an opponent with fast hands that can fight like Berto. Berto could exchange with Pacquiao because he has speed and reflexes. The real question is can Pacquiao bang with Berto?
KTFO in more than one occassion? He's only gotten KTFO'd via a headshot in one fight and this was 14 years ago. His other knockout loss was a body shot. This guy probably just read his **** on Boxrec and not read about the fights. :-(
Berto is pretty fast and hits hard. He could hit Pac with punches he doesn't see coming. But he's not as accurate as JMM though. I think Pac would win the exchanges based on accuracy.
Here's the thing, you all ask Pacquiao to fight some amazing, super slick, fast moving opponent, when Berto hasn't fought one, Floyd hasn't fought one, oh wait, Zab Judah, who gases after 3 rounds and loses his focus too. LOL. They are just as unproven against that mythical fighter people want Pacquiao to fight so bad.
I don't think Berto is a better fighter then Pac, but he does have the power to put Pac on his ass. It wouldn't be wise for either fighter to exchange with the other, but if it was to happen, who ever connects first would have the upper hand.
