    Two default boxers.

    Default Boxer 1.

    World class Speed.
    World Class Power.
    World Class Chin.
    Etc...

Lacks determination and hunger, in and out of the ring."Doesn't need to listen and learn".

    ______________________________________________________________

    Default Boxer 2.

    Average Speed.
    Average Power.
    Average/Good Chin.

Has unbelievable determination and hunger, in the ring, and during training...willing to listen and learn.

Both are starting their pro career. From the above, who in your opinion can reach a higher level...who has the longevity, etc.

Number 1 wins if they fight early in their careers.

Number 2 wins when they are in their real money fights.

Toney = Deafult 1 (speed was average IMO though)

Hopkins = Default 2 (Chin was excellent though)

Nine times out of 10, in this sport, the guy with the better determination will make it further than the guy with the better talent.

    Completely depends.

Look at Ricky Hatton - he in my opinion is Default 2 and he took the sport in Britain to new hights and popularity levels in Britain where he will be regarded as an Elite fighter, simply on what he done for the sport.

Then there's somebody like Naz as Default 1 who had a phenomenal talent but was happy fighting bums. Once the big test came in Barrera he like the desire and showed it when he didn't seek a rematch.

I believe Boxer 1 would reach World Level a lot earlier than Boxer 2. But with Boxer 1 lacking determination and hunger...their performance in training may not be up to standard, and this may translate into in-ring performance...especially when facing a consistently World Class opponent.

Whereas Boxer 2 would probably take a couple of defeats on his way to World level, maybe even taking a defeat once he steps upto World level. Boxer 2 would definitely take longer to make his name at World level...but with a great deal of determination, and willingness to learn...would no doubt peak later in his career, probably leading up to some top bouts.

I believe Boxer 1's talent could easily get them by some top opposition...talent alone.
Like I said, Boxer 2 would no doubt peak late, and their hunger and heart would no doubt see them substantially improve as time goes by...with them learning through the years.

Longevity - I'd say Boxer 1 would probably have the edge.
