Glad I didn't spunk a load on backing him to take out Varon by then, as I had suspected he would.

I haven't been scoring the fight but I've felt quite a few of the last 6 rounds have gone Varon's way.

I don't think Macklin was motivated for this as much as he normally would be. That said, poor performance.

Macklin is a lucky boy it is the worst I have seen him fight for a long time. I really think the Spainish lad should of got the win. Held on in the last round. I think he needs to work on his stamina big time if he is to fight for the world title. I thought it was going to be another Jamie Moore with Macklin getting KO at times. I think if he does fight for a World title it has to happen sooner rather than later. Maybe 1 more fight then World title fight. Get him in with Duddy some time next year then on to a World title would be the way to go. I guess Warren will get the Barker fight on instead.

Just a few i from the amatuers that i always heard that were two of the best , that never went on to what they could of achieved ,
Paul Stephens (glens brothers) never seen him box but people tell me he was best of all the brothers and there all very classy.
Gavin Brown Crumlin won everything till went off the boil sucko says he's best boxer he ever dealt with.
John Paul Mcdonagh st paul waterford really really classy beat john joe joyce as a junior i think could have been anything.
also i seen Gary Keegan's son box a kid and he was the best kid i ever seen fight don't know where he ever went to but he was awesome for his age . Hope that helps
