Sanchez overwhelms him with pace, imo. If he couldn't keep drained Jake Shields off him I don't think he'll find much success with Diego. He'll have his moments, though.
Kampmann should be able to outstrike diego. Diego has been to happy on his feet lately.Kampmann just gotta avoid the takedown. Let's not forget shields is bigger and better than diego. Kampmann should be able to keep this fight standing and outstrike diego.
I swear I replied to this, but whatever. War, Sanchez. Never marked so hard like I did when he picked Paulo Thiago up and slammed him then pushed his **** in. Return of the Nightmare.
This is one hell of a fight. I give Kampmann an advantage on his feet he is the much sharper striker of the 2 and Kampmann chin is very strong I dont believe Sanchez is even a KO threat. Both are very good on the ground but I think the difference in the fight might be Sanchez's more aggressive and fast pace along with his better wrestling ability. I like Diego by decision in a outstanding fight.
It will be such a clash of styles: Sanchez being all artificially intense, and Kampmann being rather collected and deliberate. Hopefully the judges won't give Diego points for his mean faces and nervous energy; well ideally the judges won't have to do anything because Kampamann stops him.
Kampmann is a more refined and intelligent fighter. He has good stand up and good ground. He is also naturally bigger. Diego is intense if he is on top otherwise it is just angry faces and grunts.
Never been a huge fan of the Nightmare, all that posing that he used to do. Love Kampmann's hands though. Should be a great fight.
For all the props that Kampman gets for his striking technique, he seems unwilling or unable to really hurt guys with punches. He never knocks anyone out. When he stops guys it's by subbing them and he won't sub Sanchez. I think he wins this fight on points by landing enough punches on Sanchez's nearly stationary head and getting up pretty easily from takedowns. Even though both guys are good fighters, I don't actually think that this will be that great of a fight.
I agree with that, by deliberate I mean that he picks his spots rather than just being busy, but he doesn't seem to have huge power, or at least not one shot KO power. In those terms he is kind of comparable to Bisping.
Kampmann wins. Much better technical striking. Diego's wrestling is average and Kampman is more than capable if the fight hits the ground..
