First of all, I loved the fight and both Khan and Maidana impressed me. But did anybody else feel that Cortez was getting too involved in the fight tonight? I felt that he was breaking them up way too often and not allowing them to mix it up on the inside.

Also, as many have mentioned, Khan's defense is definitely lacking. One thing I noticed was that in the early rounds, he only seemed to move his head right before throwing punches. That to me is a dangerous "tell".

    Thoughts?

Yes, it appeared that Cortez was on the take! He took a point away from Maidana for an elbow that did not exist, did not land on anything. Cortez took a point away from Hatton in the Void fight, that was for accidently landing a punch on a ring rope! How biased. He would not allow Hatton to fight inside, etc., look what he did tonight!

All Cortez was doing was celebrating the 3 year anniversary of his shitty reffing for Mayweather-Hatton. Let the guy celebrate with another shitty reffing job in a major fight.

Maidana has always been a dirty fighter when he gets in close...shots to the back of the head are common if any of you actually watched his older fights before he got noticed by all you "so called" fans....he use his forearms and elbows quite a bit...

The only time I recall Maidana hitting Khan on the back of the head is when Khan bent over and/or turned his head away.

Cortez wasn't protecting Khan just look at every fight Cortez refs between a boxer and a brawler, he always favours the boxer and warns the brawler and doesn't let him fight inside.

He isn't a crooked ref, he is just a bad ref, his motto should be i'm fair but i'm ****.
