Bute is the best body puncher in the world by far. He is a southpaw and his short left uppercut to the liver is lethal and devastating. You don't believe me ? Go on youtube to see his highlights. A good application of this shot to anybody....and Bute will finish the job.
Khan not on his level no question, you got to think marquez when thinking this. Now that was great bodyshot khan threw against marcos, but no other shots came to mind after that, Bute uses the body every round, puts a clinic on.
I don't think Khan is that great of a body puncher. He put a guy down with a body shot but I've NEVER seen him break someone down to the body. Hitting a guy with a hard body shot doesn't necessarily make you a good body puncher.
He put a guy down in a body shot that, in his entire career, has never gone down screaming in pain. Can you really say that Bradley or Alexander's physical conditioning would have been better than Maidana's had Khan faced one of them?
A great bodyshot can do that to anyone, but great body punchers are guys like mike "body snatcher" mccallum who breaks guys down all the time with a body attack, not just a guy who can land a decent body shot every now and again. khan is actually still a bit of a head hunter and needs to go to the body more often.
Montiel is definitely in that conversation. I rate him and Bute both as being arguably the best in the sport. However, since Montiel is under featherweight, I think the appropriate response to someone mentioning him is to drool and go "D-d-d-duh, who dat? :tired", like the casual fans do. ...It doesn't sound like you watch a lot of Bute fights. The body is a huge part of his game. More so than it has been for Cotto for a while before Foreman, it seems like to me.
