I found this video of Orlandiel Solis as an amateur boxing in the finals of the Pan Am Games. Look how light he is on his feet, boxing a good opponent from Canada.

Why do fighters once they turn pro, put on so much weight. David Haye looks solid at a Heavyweight and he doesn't need to weigh a ton.

Heavyweights are also a lot more exciting, when they are on their toes...I think Solis, despite being undefeated is living the good life in the United States!

It's because Solis doesn't care about boxing.

He's said numerous times that he hates boxing, I'm guessing that if he loses to Vitali he's just going to retire with the payday.

[FONT=&quot]The major problem lies between fights.

Guys like Tua and Peter train hard but they also come into camp much, much heavier than their fighting weight. I am not talking about a few pounds.

When this type of fighter starts to fight at the elite level there is no need to be ready to fight every 6 weeks and so the rest period creates a problem.

That in combo with age gives you a guy who carrying weight into the ring.

Weight doesnt really mean that much at heavyweight. It's I guess a shame that some fighters get out of shape but that doesnt always mean it diminishes their effectiveness.

Solis is an intelligent, powerful, and talented fighter. It makes no ****ing difference whether he weighs 214 or 244. Not sure if you've seen Solis lately but for his tubby ass appearance the guy is very quick and powerful.....

If Solis were to fight David Haye now he would stop him with the same goddamn authority he did before....I know people will mention that it was the amateurs and in most cases they would have a point. But it was clear and readily apparent that Solis has an extremely high boxing IQ, on the elite level(see:Floyd Mayweather, Nonito Donaire, Sergio Martinez)

Solis, realistically is one of the bigger threats to the Kbros. And it comes down to skill as to the reason why not weight...

I like Adamek, but I couldn't confidently pick him over Solis.....again with the smarts, speed, and skill.....

So right now Adamek and Solis are imo two honest threats to the Kbros

Yes that means I believe either Solis or Adamek would beat the living **** out of Haye.

Solis will get knocked out by Vitali or Vlad. Vlad knocked Austin out without throwing one right hand!

as much as I'm not a fan of UFC they just have the best rule in the world for heavyweights. The have a thing called the upper limit which is 260 pounds (i think). Boxing needs this! It should be around 250 and all the rubbish above should be called a freak show. I don't want to see fat guys who don't train fighting. This way we can have the explosive, high paced, thrilling fights back.

Mirko, Instead of an upper weight limit, it should use a Body Mass Index number. Even if for example you do not like Nikolai Valuev, you cannot say he is anywhere near as overweight as say James Toney or Odlanier Solis. Using a BMI number of say 30 or 31 would allow for being slightly overweight and/or muscular (as BMI notoriously on the lean side, not taking into account the musculature of an athlete) while eliminating the "tubs of goo" syndrome infecting our heavyweights.

REALIZM you don't know what your talking about Haye would destroy Solis. As far as it goes the heavyweights that are out of shape Eddie Chambers, Sam Peter, Solis ETC they are a disgrace to boxing and shouldn't be allowed in the ring they are fat slobs getting big paydays on the back of they like to fight, it is a real shame there isn't a tyson about to chop these fatty's down.

Look back to Tysons era these guys had body's that tight and hard they could take a beating with a BAT!! (Holyfield) (lewis) Tyson) (SPINKS) (Berbick) this new era of big men have no dedication for the sport.

He has done nothing in the professional ring to indicate that he is anything special.

He has come in fatter virtually every fight. For his height he is AT LEAST 50 pounds overweight.

He has beaten no one of note besides Monte Barret, who is well past his expiration date.

He has failed to knock out guys that are there just to be knocked out, such as Julius Long and Harry Duivien JR.

I still maintain the Mazakin fight was fishy.

So forgive me and a few others for being skeptical.
