Hmmm, i never heard Fedor really call out people but it sounded in his own way that he was calling out werdum for not taking the rematch, which of course is because when teh interview was shot werdum was injured.

As far as the whole UFC will regret thing, I think Fedor has more to lose. The UFC is the number one promotion and probably will be for a very long time. If you look at the WWE and how they basically made the WCW legends non existent (Sting) and pretty much rewrote their own history, I can very much see fans 40 years from now, not now how awesome of a fight Fedor was.

I really can't see Fedor beating a whole bunch of UFC heavyweights. Even Frank Mir would probably beat him.

Theres a bunch of kids that never watched a PRIME Ali. The footage is out there though if they want to know how good he was. Same goes for Fedor. If they're truly fans of this sport they'll do there research instead of waiting to be spoon fed by the UFC.

True, just like I did, I've been interested in MMA for only 3 years now, and I've watched tons of videos and read lots of articles. I know everything about Fedor and fell in love with his talents watching all his past fights.

But for most new MMA fans, MMA = UFC, so I can imagine Fedor being a nobody for newcomers after Fedor retires. Although anyone that truly loves MMA would find info about the Heavyweight GOAT in a couple clicks.

  9. Fedor isn't bigger than UFC, he is sticking to his principles and won't sell out for a company that does its business in the way UFC does.

Who's to say if "mainstream" MMA will even survive that long

No one knows what the future holds

I agree. Personally i think MMA's golden Era is over. I dont see MMA ever truly becoming mainstream with other well known sports.

I think you're all taking it tthe wrong way. He basically said it like, I don't have any regret over not signing to an organization that treats fighters in a way I don't want to be treated, no regrets. Also he implies that the UFC will be sorry because they tried so hard to lock him down and couldn't do it. All in all I don't think the answers are a big deal, not the deal people are making it out to be.

Fedor taking the moral high ground? :rofl

Because M-1's way of doing business is honorable? Renegotiating your contract every single time you fight? :nut
