If the Mayweather of '04 shows up, Khan is knocked out.

If the Mayweather of '10 shows up, most probable is a UD for floyd, but it's not inconceivable that Khan's youth and speed carries the fight.

I'll be very annoyed. But at the same time, I'll definitely be going to watch it live if it's in the UK! A chance to witness the greatest technician of the past 20 years, **** yeah!

The main problem at this point is not only Mayweather, it's Arum...it seems like he has Pacquiao's next 3 bouts already planned. The question is, even if Mayweather were to come out and state he wants the Pacquiao bout for June...would Arum allow it?

So if it's Mayweather's only choice but to face Khan at that point...blame goes to Arum.

(I don't believe we will hear from Mayweather for a while...we may not see him in the ring for longer).

Possible career damaging fight for Khan, it's stupid to take it so early. We all saw the reaction to Hatton getting whipped by Floyd.

Khan doesn't have great footwork...it's average at this point at best. He was making Maidana's footwork look like Mayweather's or Pacquiao's footwork at times.

In order for khan to beat mayweather, khan would have to outbox and outthink mayweather, that isn't very likely to happen.

Khan hasn't proved yet that he can change gears in fights and adapt to his opponent style. Khan would try to stick to a game plan that may give him success early in the fight, but once mayweather figures it out, it down hill from then on.

Agreed, Khans reckless lunges caused him to lose his feet. Against Mayweather he would be eating a straight right or a check hook.

Just a couple of things :

I would love to watch Khan v Mayweather in UK or USA - Mayweather wins IMO pretty easy but would still go and watch!

Mayweather last fought on May 1st 2010 against Mosely , Pacquaio fought Clottey just before in March then he fought Margarito in November and according to this post is fighting Mosely in May 2011 ! Do you think Mayweather should have a " tune up " fight before getting in the ring with his P4P rival who has remained much more active ?

Lastly maybe if the Khan fight is true whats the chances that Pacquaio v Mosely and Mayweather v Khan happens around about the same time ? It would set up a end of year fight between Pacquiao and Mayweather ( aslong as none of them lose can u imagine )

I think it would be a great fight and it wouldn't confirm that Mayweather didn't want to fight Pacquiao.

Khan has better chances of beating Floyd than Manny (another fight that was rumored for a while, although with them sharing a trainer, it certainly is difficult).

I think Khan has better handspeed in combinations (maybe even better than Pacquiao) than Floyd, perhaps he's even quicker to one punch.

Also, he uses his feet a lot and I don't think Floyd has ever fought a boxer who retreated from him. And for the last couple of years, Floyd himself has become increasingly stationary.

I do agree, this fight is not optimal for Floyd. It bears a lot of risk, yet the payout is significantly worse than a bout with Manny would bring and losing to Manny would cost Floyd a lot less respect than losing to Khan.

Well I'd rather see that fight, so I'd feel great. :thumbsup

Pacquiao only has a punchers chance, I agree with Jeff Mayweather, and its not that I like the Mayweather's, I cant stand them, although Jeff seems to be okay, its just that I dont see Pacquiao as having the intangibles to beat Mayweather that others do, now as far fetched as people think Khan's chances of beating Mayweather are, I think Khan brings some nice stylistic issues into the bout that Mayweather would have to adjust to, which is worth watching in itself, for me at least.

I'd hate Mayweather even more than I do.
