After watching this guy win K1 max this year, looking at his record and watching a few old fights it's clear he's one of the elite guys in K1 and he's only 25. I was wondering do you think we'll ever see him in MMA? If not what else is there for him to accomplish in kickboxing, would he just look to continue his dominance and take on top Muay Thai guys?
I hope not. I hope we just get to continue watching him in his true element. Watching a brilliant stand up artist like him getting controlled by a wrestler would just be a shame. He might be my favorite fighter to watch from a pure technical standpoint.
He's one of the best strikers in the world, IMO - and head and shoulders above anyone in any weight class in MMA. That said, he should stick to what he's good - scratch that - what he's excellent at. There's no need to get embarrassed in MMA. He probably has several years of dominance left in kickboxing. :good
but we don't get to watch K1 in the UK it's not fair His age is what blows me away, when you look at his record at 25 that's pretty mad.
I agree with the other two posts; he is the best Kickboxer, maybe the best Muay Thai fighters (not quite sure who would be better) at his weight in the world. He doesn't have any MMA training, so most of his fights would either be him destroying fighters who try to stand with him, or getting taken down and beaten so we don't get to see his skills.
petrosayn is not unique in having so many fights at a young age yodsanklai has 3 times as much and has accomplished more than petosayn has- they both are muay thai fighters and petro has fought in thailand before, he even fought at Lumpinee Stadium so he always have that option of competing over there. Petrosayn is a fantastic fighter, he has many options, going into mma is not a very good one. Why must every fighter go into mma? seems ridiculous to me... anyway their is still k-1, if that were to collapse then their is its showtime and plenty of other kickboxing and muay thai events all over the world- im sure he will have plenty of fights to keep him busy. Like the TS wrote, he has already had 60+ fights (without going into mma) and has many good years ahead of him. petro has superb technique and takes very little damage with a little luck he should have a fantastic long career(if he can keep his hands from being injured too much).
