Sorry Widdy the Pedroza Barry beat for the title was an absolute shell of a man.

Johnson, Medina, Kelley would have all given Barry hard hard fights. If Barry was so damn good why did he struggle so much with Danilo Cabrera . Why did his come back amount to nothing ? He was a good carefully managed fighter. Not an ATG. This is being said by someone who is/was an absolute fan of the man.

no way riggers mate was pedroza a shell,on the way down defo, but no shell.
as for him struggling with certain fighters, every fighter has bad nights, mayweather, ray robinson, tyson ect ect.
never av i said barry was a ATG,ive said he would have the beating of hamed, who i don't think is a ATG either,v good, but no ATG

Widdy Pedroza was an old old man making his 20th defence. He was nothing like the man who won the title. He also did nothing after his defeat to Barry. Barry had bad nights in every defence. We will never know for sure but Barrys resume is weak in comparison

Hamed would have beaten Baz and Jim on the same night. They could have done a special boxing tag team handicap match with Jimbo and Baz on the same side and Naz would still make them look like monkeys and make them his bitches.

Barry beat Pedroza fine champion Pedroza was when Pedroza was clearly on the slide past his best. In fact Pedroza was gifted decisions against the likes of Bernard Taylor late in his reign. Barry was good albeit protected fighter. His handlers assidously avoided him fighting Azumah Nelson because they knew the humiliating outcome Barry would get. The shame is that gallant defeat to Nelson would have helped McGuigan's legacy instead he ended up losing to Cruz and later Jim McDonell. Funnily enough I always thought McDonell had the beating of him. I cannot envisage him ever beating Naz. The only person who beat Naz was the great Barrera who even though showing Naz that he was his Daddy in the ring had to be complimentary about Naz's power. Naz had something to worry everyone. Honestly I am not sure Barry was better than Pat Cowdell who went 15 rounds with the great Salvador whom I personally think was the greatest of the Mexican fighters.

Outdoors during daylight hours. Never a good scenario for a pale pastey looking Irish/Brit, especially against a latino. I thought Mcguigan was immense.
I think it was his final fight(his opponent i dont remember) where he still fought amazingly well but was stopped with a cut.

No arguments with that, but he was born in Monaghan and that's in Ireland, so by your own logic he's Irish.

Anyway I went wit McGuigan by points, because I don't think Naz was all that he's made out to be really, but if people have it going the other way that's grand, i'm a bit biased.

But people saying he KO's McGuigan? That's mad, whats the basis for that. Happens all the time on here though, people going way too far with their opinions and basing it on nothing.

the ref to stop Barry for his own good in the late rounds. He would give it a real good go but he wasn't hard to find and prime Naz would have frequently hit him with some corkers. He would huff and puff but wouldn't be able to wear naz down imo

I was thinking about this the other day, as well as Hamed vs. Jeff Fenech.

Honestly, I think Hamed probably wins a close fight on points against McGuigan. It's laughable to think that Hamed would stop McGuigan when he liked.

Would you call Daniel Day-Lewis one of Ireland's best actors?

I think Naz would take a close decision, it could go either way though. I actually don't think Naz would knock him out.
