floyd fought zab judah even after judah lost to baldomir, who knows floyd might consider a fight with mosley after seeing how close the cotto fight was.
I seriously doubt it. If you look back to that Judah fight, Floyd had no other viable options. If Floyd beats Hatton, Cotto, Williams, maybe Hatton again, DLH, even retirement are all better options than Mosely. Mosely is doen. He had a good run, but it's over for him.
you are just a sugar shane hater!! you know damn well shane would give a tougher fight than de la hoya did.
No he wouldn't. That's not the point though. The point is that Mosely isn't a viable option for Floyd. Why the hell would an old man with relatively little drawing power who's coming off a loss. Think about this too, he's constantly ragged on Cotto for fighting his leftovers. I can't see him turning around and fighting Cotto's leftovers.
No. He doesn't have a good jab that would keep Floyd at a distance, he's defense is also alot worse than DLH's. There are only two reasons Cotto didn't stop Mosely; his right hand isn't that strong, and Mosely was a little faster than him. Mosely would be eating rights all night from Floyd, and of course he would be the slower fighter. He wouldn't get stopped, but he would lose a wide decision.
Well, after Hatton he will have 39 fights. When he fought Judah coming off a loss, Judah was his third choice and he had no other viable options. The fight against Corely was two years earlier. So that's two fights out of 39 and those two fightw were two years apart, one of which he had no other vaible opponent. That doesn't sound to me like a guy who likes to fight guys coming off a loss. Now Pac on the other hand has fought a string of fighters coming off a loss, one after another.
I doubt Floyd fights Mosley - he has nothing to gain from it right now. Mosley doesn't have a belt and he is coming off a loss. If Floyd wins a wide or clear decision, many people will claim Mosley is old and shot. There are bigger and better fights for Mayweather right now
Kostya Tszyu is older than Mosley at 38 and also coming off a loss. He would also be coming off a 2 1/2 yr layoff.
I think Mosley has achieved a lot in his career. Not only was he a great fighter (one of the great lightweights in recent years), he was also a decent guy outside the ring. He conducted himself well, trained hard, and gave it his all in the ring. When i read the subject heading of this thread, it doesnt really phase me whether he achieves more or less at this point of his career. The man will always be a champion in my eyes.
after watching him fight cotto, no, he spent to much time trying to ko cotto, his strategy isnt what it used to be, i remembered mosley for fast flurrys of accurate punches, wasnt there in his last fight. dont be fooled by ppl who think mayweather done it easy against dlh, he didnt, it was a close fight.
