Cracking performance from Simpson, got a deserved nod ( I had it 116-112 ). Lindsay will be back though, he looked rusty more than anything else, like he was missing a step.

I can't see Lindsay fighting for the Commonwealth against Smith. Ironically, I wouldn't be too shocked if Maloney makes a European title fight for him against Takoucht.

Both men played their part in a truly classic British title fight. John Simpson is one of the most honest, hardest working boxers out there and I am delighted for him, a class act inside and outside the ropes.
Martin Lindsay too gave his all and has nothing to be ashamed of. The man took his first defeat with sporting grace and dignity.

Great fight, well done to both warriors and congratulations to all at Team Simpson.

Has to be a contender for fight of the year.

Warmest congratulations to John Simpson and Billy Nelson and due respect to Martin Lindsay, very classy post fight comments in defeat.
