Why is GBP pushing Peterson more than Ortiz?

Lamont has skills guys.. I can imagine lack of power he has displayed plays a part in pushing him to fight Khan as well. Good fight for experience for both fighters, Khan the obvious favorite, but Lamont is slick enough to give Khan some problems. He's also shown the willingness to play out an aggressive role.

Exactly... Khan and Ortiz were both suppose to be GBP next cash cows and PPV Kings... Sadly it's not working in their favor..

I really like both guys, but the truth is they"re both only one bad matchup away from obscurity...

 

I have a feeling that GBP will steer Khan into a mayweather fight at 147 and then let ortiz try to take over at 140lbs. Both of these guys are in thier early 20's so from a business standpoint it wouldn't be smart to match them against each other any time soon until the fans demand it. Also I think Petersen-Khan is just a crime of opportunity for GBP, Petersen looked better than expected against Ortiz so lets throw him in against Khan since he is still a low risk fight but now brings some unexpected credibility.

GBP are trying to rebuild Ortiz. A fight between him and Khan was mean't to be big money. It doesn't look like that now and they have to get his career back on track.

I really like Ortiz and think he has all the ingredients bar one to really compete effectively at the top level. I was willing to cut him alot of Slack over the Maidana debacle. Maybe he was young, maybe it was an off day or whatever. But his latest fight with Peterson has left me really disappointed. Every time he was hit he crawled into his shell and was just happy playing defense. His attitude stinks like hell. If he can't take Peterson's punches then what chance he has against other heavy hitters. Its not that he can't take them physically. His mind is not in the right place, lack of heart ? who knows ... but something is just not right. The stupid smile he had on his face after hearing it was a draw just broke the camels back as well. Lost cause at this point I am afraid.
