But he knows how to train his boxers:

Forward to 5:14 and watch from there.

Diaz, Maidana's trainer, has lots of experience, but fails to use modern techniques improve his boxers conditioning.

Also, this is the ONLY video I've found on youtube on the Khan/Maidana fight where Ariza not only talks about but also shows the leg conditioning that allowed Amir Khan to stay on his feet in the 10th round.

He has an understanding of keeping atheletes in good condition. Has a sports science background but it doesn't mean his boxing know how is on par with trainers he calls ****. Needs to show a bit more respect.

Interesting that some people consider the likes of Alex Ariza, "conditioning coaches", some sort of new development in boxing training, and talk up what they do as "modern training methods", but the work-outs are OLD SCHOOL as hell.
Sprints followed by footwork drill in a sand pit, trainer with a stopwatch, emphasis on leg conditioning, brutal work-outs ... this is old school training.

I don't knock the knowledge involved in acquiring any science degree, sports or not, but the methods and principles are basically the same as they ever were.

0:50 "don't you think i want to jack manny up and give him those super fuels?.. that is an advantage"

what kind of conditioning coach would like his fighter to take that shortcut?

Is it really out of the realm of possibility that it happens? Is ariza saying they don't.. gospel?

shouldn't the parameters of testing before and after a fight be understood if they are clean themselves and have actually come into conflict with an opponent who actually tried to "get that edge"?
