Yeah, for once you are right. Before the Johnson fight everyone was banging on about how cloud was a massive puncher, even The Ring described him as a 'scary puncher'. We have not even seen a glimpse of this so called 'power', Cloud is overrated and he is not a hard puncher. End of story.

Pac, Floyd and JMM are elite. Nobody else is.

Cloud would be a good fighter, if he had the heart of a warrior. He just doesn't though, like many active American boxers. The will, desire and hunger to punish their opponents is lacking.

He's alright though. Just not a top class fighter. He's young, so who knows? The fact that MichiganWarrior doesn't rate him means he will probably unify at light heavy, cruiser and then rule the heavyweight division for the next decade. He has the Teddy Atlas of ESB against him, so don't expect him to fade away just yet.

I suppose that because I agree with you, you're wrong?

You can look Cloud in the eyes and tell he's soft as shite....I could see Degale or Groves giving Cloud all he could handle and probably finish the American hypejob.

Cloud fights like a caveman, but that's the style that works for him. He throws a lot and throws with knockout force each time. His defense sucks, but he has a good enough chin to fight that way..

Cloud definitely is a hard puncher. Otherwise, he wouldn't have been able to hurt literally every fighter he's been in the ring with. That's including Glen Johnson, who I've never seen seriously hurt by a head shot until he fought Cloud.

Zuniga was undersized and a little long in the tooth, so I'll admit Cloud going the distance with him is a bit of a disappointment. But it's not exactly the worst thing in the world either. Cloud took the Zuniga fight for less than his contract minimum in order to remain active, so him getting rounds in may end up being better for him in the long hall.

Last night, Zuniga was well conditioned and came to fight, yet he still lost virtually every round outside of maybe 2. In the past, Zuniga has been stopped on a body shot from Lucian Bute and TKOd after his corner threw in the towel against Pavlik as result of punishment and cuts. Generally, he's a durable dude. So those who were expecting Cloud to knock Zuniga clean out, may not have been overrating Cloud's power, but rather underestimating Zuniga's toughness. Either that or perhaps they thought the size discrepancy would have been more significant.

Anyway, Cloud didn't look great at all last night. But he didn't look nearly as dreadful either as say Nathan Cleverly or George Groves in their last bouts. He gave Zuniga a pretty good beating and only dropped a couple of rounds in the process. Cloud may never be the man to beat in his division, but he's going to be hell for anyone who steps in the ring with him.

Cloud has some power, but he clearly isn't the monstrous puncher he was made out to be.

I don't rate Cleverley and Groves, they both seem pretty average prospects to me.

Yeah, he doesn't have one punch power. But I think he still has the power to bother anyone in the division.

Last half of my post wasn't directed at you, but yeah..I agree with you on Groves. Though I'm not ready to write Cleverly off just yet.

I do not think Groves is that good at all, but I have a feeling he would beat James DeGale if they were to fight (just a hunch). However I fell Goves style does not fit his physical attributes. He has trouble pulling off this 'slick' style, and it will end up with him beign KO'd at some point in the future.

Forgetting D Inkin beat Zuniga just as easily

Zuniga is seriously under rated on this board, and always has been. This is a guy Abraham and Sauerland wanted NOTHING to do with! However, at this point, Cloud should have been able to stop him. His best days came and went at 160, and he has not looked particularly good since the Oganov fight.

I disagree there. I think DeGale would beat him comfortably.

No, he didn't. Inkin beat Zuniga clearly, but he lost just as many rounds(if not more) than Cloud , never dropped Zuniga, nor did he damage Zuniga as badly. Either way, what the hell does that fight have to do with my original post?

    Cloud is a fun watch.

Definitely not elite but continuously throws with bad intent, which makes him troublesome for anyone in and around 175.
