I always hate putting the "hype by association" tag on syblings/relatives of people I considered special but I really do hope Luis can pick-up where Edwin left-off (In the ring that is). Edwin was a joy to watch. Damn headcase though...Let's hope that doesn't run in the family.

Maybe this is the art of psycho-pugilism that Ibeabuchi was talking about. Psychopaths like Edwin Valero make great boxers because they have the killer instinct. You can see it in the sparring, he was a predatory fighter like no other I've seen.

An aproximation of what was said in the Luis Valero video.

Both trainers agree in that LuisValero looks like a clone of Edwin Valero. They are impressed by his noble soul. They say Luis is academically well prepared since he’s got a University degree. As a fighter he has great qualities such as being extremely explosive, he is a replica, a clone of his brother in this aspect. Their similarities are tremendous, you could easily get confused about him seeing Edwin training or fighting.

Luis Valero: For me is an honor to be in Mexico and to have my first fight here. I daydream about winning my first fight. I feel that if I win this first fight, many doors will open for me. And this is what I am trying to achieve. My priority is to win my first fight. I am not thinking about anything else ahead in terms of fights. My long terms goals are to be a World Champion, and then to capture all the titles from each boxing body. The WBC belt is the perfect title, it’s just marvelous; the one everyone wants. For me there is nothing bigger or more gratifying than to obtain the WBC belt. My first fight is dedicated to my brother, RIP. Edwin was the first person to tell me that I was a World Champion. I became interested in boxing because when I was very young, I followed him frequently to his training in the amateurs. I just went along to hang around him. Up to now, I haven’t discovered my real talent; however we’ll find out during my first bout. I like to go for the K.O, to be explosive, I just love it. I am naturally inclined to feel this way. I don’t feel anger or hold grudges if someone is hitting me; on the contrary, if I get punched once, I am driven to give them back twice, thrice or more punches. I started boxing in 2002. The biggest obstacle in starting out this profession has been to leave behind my wife and my son. I miss them so much; I wish I could have them with me. Once in the ring I feel a fair bit of fear, and the anxiety of having to wait for the first ring of the bell, but once we touch gloves the adrenaline starts to take over. The objective of my training is to improve my overall condition, to learn more and to polish my punches...
