Let's get a roll call of ESB members headed to the ceremony (Sunday, June 12th @ 2:30 pm EST) and/or auxiliary festivities in Canastota, NY.

My plan is to at least make it for the big event, if not the whole 4-day shebang. :good

Let's tailgate this son of a *****! Before it's all said and done, we'll dare whoever seems drunkest to call Iron Mike a sissy to his face! :!:

Absolutely. I was really hoping Hamed and Covia Kid would get in, but absolutely I'll be there. How far is it from NYC or Providence?

It's about 250 miles from Manhattan...closer to 300 from Providence and Boston.

It's between 4 and 5 hours of driving from all three.

    Yes and no.

If you just go for the ring presentation, you actually don't have to pay a dime.

Everything else appears to be à la carte.

Apparently there is no commercial airport or bus/train station anywhere near Canastota. :think You're either driving or you don't get there.

There is Luther Airport in nearby Chittenago (4 miles away from the IBHOF) which is "privately owned but open to the public" but seeing as it's not possible to book flights anywhere online to this destination it might just mean "open to the public" in the sense that you can land your private jet there if you have one.

Has anyone made the trek before? Has anyone gotten there by means other than driving?

Seeing as I live in Ireland it's not likely. But never say never.....

Are any other New Englanders thinking about making the haul? Carpool, perhaps? :think

    :bump

So, this is now a week and a half away.

As it turns out, I will probably be unable to attend unless someone from my neck of the woods is planning to drive out and has an extra passenger seat they'd be willing to share in exchange for a case of beer or whatever.

The most important event (the actual induction ceremony) is at 2:30pm EST. Does anybody know if it will be shown live anywhere on television or streamed via the internet? I haven't been able to find out anything and am beginning to think that if you aren't there in person you just flat out don't get to witness this historical moment. That's mind-boggling.

This is the induction of Tyson and JCC. Even if the ceremony isn't normally televised, you'd think this year would be special. Hell, Showtime is sponsoring the whole HOF weekend, but they can't spare some middle-of-the-afternoon airtime? :huh
