A deserved split decision win for Emile.

Both men are too good technically to lose a landslide to anyone. Both men are great technical fighters. And both of them often appeared to be fighting within themselves.

Griffith was the master of the split decision, achieved more and proved it more often.

Griffith was the undisputed master of the 15 round split decision and could have outpointed Floyd for one more.:D

I think size and strength are a major factor here.

Griffith would have had a HUGE strength advantage..combined with his smarts, he would have earned the points win for sure.

emile has never faced a fighter with the speed that floyd jr carries emile would be getting hit with so many punches that he would think he was standing in the middle of the freeway i have floyd jr winning by easy kayo:think

Emile was great fighter - no doubt about it, but I believe Mayweather has more talent and he's faster than Griffith was. I think that Floyd would be able to deal with Griffith's stregth advantage, neutralizing it with his speed and defense skills.
Mayweather by a very close decision.

The nearest Griffith got to fighting this level of speed and defense was against Napoles and he couldn't land his jab at all and was completely outboxed and outsped. People say he was weight drained but in truth he was always a small MW weighing from 151-154 without draining at all so I'm not sure he was that drained

I don't buy into speed advantages when looking at guys from the last 10 years or so. You only have to look at track times and talk to track athletes to know that today's sportsman have "science" that was not around back in the day.

Griffith fought many better fighters than Mayweather. Floyd has never beaten anyone close to Emile.

You don't have to 'buy into the speed advantages of the last 10 years', just watch some film Griffith wasn't that quick, Mayweather is far far quicker both of foot, reaction and hand. And no Griffith fought perhaps 1 fighter on par with Mayweather in Napoles, the rest were inferior

I'll give you the benefit of the doubt on you meaning at 147 because there are plenty of fighters on Emile's record above welter that are on a par with, and superior to, Floyd.

Rodriguez for sure at 147 should count. And Emile was only a smidgeon above 147 when he was beating ATG MWs like Tiger.

The thing is you have no idea if he would be quicker or by how much if they were both on the same PEDs.

All of the evidence is with Griffith and there's a lot of it. I'd expect the fight to be close though.
