very doubtful. there both good prospects who could get to world level so i cant see them fighting this early in there careers. maybe somewhere down the line when they mature more and theres a major title on the line.

Casey vs Rigondeaux: Willie knows no fear

Ireland’s Cinderella Man, Willie ‘Big Bang’ Casey is a man who knows no fear. After only eleven fights into his pro career he remains undefeated and seemingly unstoppable. Confidence is high in the Dolphil camp with team Casey plotting one of the biggest upsets in boxing history.

Head Coach Phil Sutcliffe shares the belief surrounding the camp “Of course we are confident in causing an upset, that’s why we took the fight, I believe Willie has the tools to beat Rigondeaux. We know all about Rigo, two Olympic Gold’s, two World Championships and now a World Title so he is the real deal. I still think Willie can do it, he’s one of the hardest hitters in the world at his weight, its going to be a fantastic fight.”

Rigondeaux returns to his training camp next week to prepare for his first defence since defeating Ricardo Cordoba. The self-described ‘greatest boxer in history’ who before turning pro was the most decorated amateur of his generation. Freddie Roach recently suggested that Rigondeaux would take Rafael Marquez and Israel Vazquez if the fights came his way but the Cuban standout could also be another scalp on the growing list of shock victories on Casey’s record.

People certainly took note when the Limerick southpaw won the Prizefighter tournament earlier in the year, when he lifted the European Title he silenced a lot of his critics and now Dolphil Promotions are urging the country to believe in Willie and get behind him 100% for the fight.

“We hope the country gets behind Willie, We know demand will be high for this but at the same time we know that these are tough times so we have decided to keep the tickets the same price as Collins V Eubank back in 1995.” Said Daniel Halpin of Dolphil Promotions.

Tickets can be purchased from www.ticketgroup.ie

    Priced €50 €70 and €130 ringside

lots of the usual anti stuff in press and web about casey/ rigo .seems like sour grapes from a camp that has no call to either fighter and i hope that genuine fans can see through all that jealous shite and just support willie , eg a back step for kiko , who mentioned kiko in the first place, do these people not remember that kiko was offered a fight with rigo and turned it down last year citing madness to step in the ring with him,and now its a step back ,feck sake. carr giving out in the herald about interim title , did he say that when cordoba was interim champ before he fought dunne? and was bumped up , no he did not. double standards .listen dolphil are here to stay and competition has to be healthy for irish boxing and remember all involved in dolphil are heavily involved in amature boxing as well . sorry about the rant lads but there are obstacles being put in our way at every corner in our bid to break the mould and put on a title fight. why not us? We have 9 pros on our books and try to do things right all we want is a level playing field .

Bought 2 tickets for the Big Bang fight and cant ****ing wait for it. After Xmas is finished I will be saving as much as I can for that week. The Cheltenham races and Paddys day then the Big Bang on Saturday cant ****ing wait.
Fair play to the lads at Dolphil for putting on the shows. All your short of is a tv deal to get more of the other lads some media coverage. In a ideal world Setanta Ireland would come in and sort you out with a tv deal as they did for McGugian and it could well lead to bigger and better cards in Ireland in years to come. Cant wait for the fight.

Think Sky will pick it up, thats where the money is but Dolphil might have to strike deal with one of the British promoters who have a contract with Sky to do that.
