Disappointed with Pac-Mosley. The only thing that will redeem it a bit is...

I'm definitely disappointed too. A bit like how I felt when the Margo fight was announced. But then at least for that fight, it reached a point where the size disparity intrigued me to a point where the fight actually interested me and my disgust at Margo being given a fight I felt he didn't deserve started to diminish a bit.

Sadly for a fight with Mosley, I just can't thing of any redeeming qualities about this fight. I just can't see myself getting excited over this fight, oh well.

Yeah, the fight is a farce, but we all know we're going to tune in and watch it! I did the same with Haye-Harriisson, i was calling Haye all the names under the sun, but i got the fight on and watched it. That's the thing when you're in love with boxing, you become a bit of a mug, oh well, here's hoping to one day these two will finally get it on in the ring. The thing is though, for ages i've wanted to see Pac-Floyd because of obvious reasons, the two greatest fighters in the world, enough said. But now they've dissapointed and annoyed me so much that i just want them to fight so that we can have closure on that chapter and let the fine fighters that are in their shadow shine. It's a real bad thing when we've got plenty of talent and all that really gets talked about in the streets is Pac-Floyd (if your every day man even speaks boxing at all). I just want it to happen now. Can't believe this fight has been made to be honest.

Saying that someone "looked like" a shot fighter in a certain fight is not the same as saying "he is shot".

Bernard Hopkins looked like a shot fighter to me in his fight with Roy Jones, but he obviously wasn't shot, considering his performance in his next fight with Jean Pascal.

Here is my thread I made the day after Floyd-Mosley:

If I was going to say Shane was shot, I'd have said it after that fight.

Also, there is no way Shane Mosley is Roy Jones-style shot, which was the original context.

Jones is shot because he has been knocked out a few times, has lost to lesser fighters a few times, and hasn't performed like himself for 7 years.

Mosley has never been stopped, and the only guy to dominate him in recent years has been a greater fighter, Mayweather. He is not a shot fighter in the way that Jones is, I have NEVER said ANYTHING like that. :good

Actually this is what you said.

Ultimately, Shane is a fighter years past his prime and although he showed a great chin and a great heart tonight, I'd call it a day if I were him. Had he been in there with a more predatory finisher, it could have been curtains for him, and that's not the way he deserves to end his career. A fantastic fighter, a fantastic career, and a really brave display, but he doesn't have it anymore.

Seems to me like you were calling him shot.

So lets recap what you said, years past his prime, doesn't have it anymore, if i was him i call it a day. If that's you not calling a fighter shot, i would like to see what is.

Shane is shot though. It doesn't matter who said or says what. Shane Mosley is shot.

Are you sure? Can you actually read?

I would like it if more fighters retired before they were shot. Wouldn't you? Mosley's peak was a DECADE ago. He doesn't have that sort of ability anymore. I'd be very happy if he had retired by now. I don't want him to stay around for years and become another Holyfield/Jones.

Anyway this is a ****ing joke fight and I cant give a **** about it on any level. I hate Bob Arum more than I thought was humanly possible. On the other hand, I have Netflix now and that **** is money in the bank. The streaming is really quite epic.

    To OPBF and whoupicking?:

Doesn't a fighter actually have to have been either stopped or dominated by a lesser fighter before they can be condemned as properly "shot"?

That's always been my understanding of the term.

It would look something like this: He is shot. :patsch

For ****'s sake....read the replies properly will you? He explained why he said that. Saying someone shoudl call it quits before they are shot does not mean THEY ARE SHOT. That was pretty clear, well, to people who can read. :patsch

The worst thing though is that the whole thing with Pacquiao and Mayweather has become predictable now.

    Nice on the Netlflix
