Basically because he didnt need to. he was so good on the outside that he never had to develop his inside game. He found something that worked and stuck with it. But, because he really never threw body punches I dont consider him the greatest fighter of all time, but he is the greatest heavyweight. I think Pep, Duran, Robinson, and Armstrong were more complete fighters.

because his trainer was not the best, but one thing to remember is waldmir does not invest to the body either.i think becaue of his height adn style he just was a text book head hunter.

Ali has a habit of leaning back to avoid punches. He is always in a position to lean back and because of that, it is hard for him to punch down for the body.

Also Ali is no big puncher and a hard punch is needed to be effective in the body.

The only advantage of fighting Wlad is that you won't be hit with a low blow.

He only was with Moore for a very short period, then he fought him.

Ali was a fabulous outside fighter in his prime, he didn't even need to fight on the inside, so he didn't.

I was watching a Aaron Pryor Amateur fight, and Ali was commentating, he said, "the left hook is the hardest punch in boxing to throw, much harder than straight punches," and "that's why I didn't throw them that much and tried to keep things simple."

I believe him, because he didn't do much but 1-2 with the occasional left hook. He was fast as ****, and had balls of steel though.
