DeGale seems like a good kid out of the ring as well. Nice to hear that! Edit: Born round the corner from where Ron is in Tooting..
Yeah I think people get the wrong impression from him sometimes. Because he's young, confident and successful, sometimes it could come across as him being arrogant but it's not. That's just the way he is. After winning a gold medal and starting his professional career so well, DeGale could have easily turned his back on local boxing and the media but he still seems to want to do things the right way (staying with his family etc) and even going the proper, old fashioned route of wanting to win the Lonsdale belt outright.
That was a enjoyable show Buncey. I don't know how you time it into 1 hour. Will catch the 20 mins I missed tommorow. Cheers.
Steve, Thanks so much for having me on – really appreciate it – if you get stuck for a “preview” for next week drop me a line. As you said, it’s all about the fans and you can happily pass this message on to the producers – this isn’t just the best Buncey’s Boxing Hour we’ve heard – it’s probably the best show BBC London has had this year in terms of both quality and quantity of guests. Print out the last 4 pages of this forum, present to Pete Stevens and get yourself an extra hour! Cheers, Greg
It was a fresh way to look back at a year...there are other ways. Next week will be even better, trust me. Can somebody post the links so that the men in charge at BBC London (and other places) can see the stats from the various listen again methods. Adios, enjoy the break and see you next Thursday.
