I thought Mosley looked like a shot fighter against Mayweather, but the fact that he managed to avoid being easily beaten by the much bigger Sergio Mora convinced me he wasn't shot. Roy Jones is a shot fighter (knocked out by lesser fighters Tarver and Johnson, dominated by lesser fighter Joe Calzaghe).

Only when Mosley starts getting knocked out or dominated by lesser fighters, would I then definitively say he is shot.

    Another example:

    - Azumah Nelson gets beaten up by Jeff Fenech, escapes with a gift decision draw

so you think he's en route to shot status, and will be killed in the rematch...

    - Azumah Nelson goes to Fenech's back yard and brutalizes him in 8 rounds

    then

    - Nelson draws with Jesse James Leija, then loses to Leija (UD), and you think he must be done now...

    then

    - Nelson (aged 37) knocks out Gabriel Ruelas and Jesse James Leija

The guy refused to be shot!!!

Hopkins vs jones looked shot, proved otherwise vs pascal.

Marquez vs floyd looked shot, proved otherwise vs kats

Corey has looked shot for a while - but put up a pretty good fight against Maidana.

Holyfield is pretty much completely shot - but he still beat Valuev - even if the scorecards didn't say so.

Mosley & Hopkins haven't looked all that good in their last couple of fights - but always manage to pull a rabbit out the hat at some point.

PWill didn't look shot - but looked like he got shot - when Martinez landed that shot.

It looked like it was over for Duran after the Hearns fight. He came back to life though in that Iran Barkley fight!

I didn't hear or see one single person suggesting that JMM was shot after losing to Mayweather. I heard about a million saying he didn't belong anywhere near 147. JMM was coming off two very good wins, there was zero signs of decline coming into the FMJ fight, so there was no reason to even suspect he was "shot" when he lost to the much bigger and better man.

I was pretty surprised when Casamayor looked so good in the first 7 rounds against JMM. Casa had been in decline for ages, and looked like he was on his way to losing to Katsidis in his last fight, before winning via stunning KO. So I was expecting JMM to outclass and dominate Casa from the outset, but Casa more than held his own for the most part, beating JMM at his own game before father time caught up with him in the later rounds.

I just watched the fight yesterday and I don't know how the judges gave David Diaz the win against Morales.

I didn't count Marquez shot against Mayweather considering Mayweather is more skilled and the bigger man.

True, but he's still been shot for years.

His best win in his current streak is Castillo, who's even more shot...ridiculously so, in fact.
