Anyone think Floyd would have beaten a prime DLH?

They give Floyd heavyweight gloves in a 154 lb fight he couldn't make against a 160+ oscar, wins about 8/4 rounds and he "barely won"...these haters are clowns.

By looking at their styles and their competition and how they did against competition I would say DLH 140-147 beats Floyd.

I'm going to assume a lot of posters do not (maybe aren't old enough to) remember Oscar at his best and simply don't care enough to know anyway.

Floyd was at a big disadvantage in that fight. Put them at the same weight and same age.
Floyd would neutralize his left hook, but moving away from it and his automatic uppercut that he throws whenever somebody throws a left to the body and the pull counter would still work against prime Oscar.

Floyd didn't look too good at 154 against DLH, I mean, compared to most of his other fights that is. Watch the DLH fight, than watch his next fight against Hatton. Part of it is that DLH simply had and executed a better gameplan, but I feel as though another part of that is that Floyd is simply a 147 guy.

I think people underrate the weight aspect of their fight. DLH taking on Floyd at any lower weight (Where he was at in his prime), probably looks a lot different.

Feel like this aspect goes unnoticed too much.

Floyd cleary outboxed a bigger stronger DLH at 154. Floyd's only mistake was giving DLH a little too much respect and fighting real defensively for the 1st few rds. DLH flurried, missed most of his shots, but got credit anyway just because it looked good even though it was ineffective aggression. There was nothing wrong with DLH in that fight, other than the fact that his opponent was more skilled.

And that he was not PRIME.

Did you read the thread title?

Do you know when DLH's prime was?

Yes I read but Mayweather wasn't exactly in top form either. Both Floyd and DLH were better at lower weights.

No, but technically Floyd was still in his prime even if moving up. Watch the speed difference in DLH at the Hopkins fight and at the Mayorga fight and that tells the story. The thing is great fighters can make themselves still look great so long as its against the right type of opponent. You're right the fight was made more competitive because of Floyd's weight climbing. But the DLH that fought Mosley second time was the last prime DLH. You can stretch his prime to Hopkins if you want but not all the way to Floyd and Pac.
