Floyd does not have the legs anymore. Simple as that.

When you are inactive like Floyd, your athleticism would wane.

Why would he stand toe to toe with Mosley and ride his bicycle on Baldomir? That does not make sense at all.

If it was a stamina issue he would not have strong showings in punch output late in fights. He is CHOOSING to bang. He also hasn't run from ANYONE at WW when healthy.

Do you even know what is meant by "athleticism"? It is his fluidity. It takes far more athleticism to stay close and counter punch than it does to box from a distance. Mayweather stayed close and forced the fight.

He had hand issues. This is common knowledge to any boxing fan.

Pac fans are the worst. :bart

Because, he had the SIZE and STRENGTH to keep Shane at bay, in the clinches. He is a physically stronger fighter now. Look at him in the Baldomir fight, and look at him in the Shane fight. He did not have the size to tie up and control a fighter like Baldomir, back then. Fast Forward to 2010, he does now. Look at how he is pushing Shane around in the fight. And Shane is very strong. You don't see many fighters, even at LMW, handle Shane like that. Floyd's legs were very strong in that fight, against Shane. He just used them differently, than what we are used to seeing.

He didn't "ride his bike" because he seldom ever (I personally don't think he has ever had to, spare for the Jose Luis Castillo's) has to, and like someone said, he wanted to take the fight to Mosley and give the fans what they want to see. Just because he was so damn dominant against the #3 P4P, people always look for a way to hold back due credit.

I am waiting for these guys to produce the fights where Mayweather runs all over the ring.

Mayweather sits in the pocket and bangs guys. He may "escape" when a guy attempts to gain momentum, but for the most part he shuffles into the tension zone and forces guys to throw so that they can be countered.

Because he wanted to win by stoppage. He felt if he pressed the attack early he could do it. He felt his hand speed was superior to Mosley and would win there exchanges.

As for prime Mosley beating Mayweather. Prime Mosley at WW was always the faster more physically gifted fighter during his fights. And has looked great beating slower come forward brawlers who he could beat to the punch. Its not a given that Mosley could beat a slick style boxer at WW or a boxer who could match his athletic ability and hand speed.

Mayweather is a student of the game. He backpedaled alot more vs the much smalller Marquez than he did vs Mosley.

Mayweather say's he does'nt study tape, but thats a load of crap.
Mayweather had Mosley figured out beforehand by studiyng film, and he knew that he could beat Mosley by just finding the right angles with him.

When Mosley is not on his game, he's not a good improviser. He's actually never been one, even in his prime.

I have no doubt that Mayweather saw film and decided, "I'm going to get in close, bump him with my shoulder and just outmanuever him on the inside by using my feet and upperbody movement.
There was really no need to backpedal vs Mosley, he was clueless.

If Floyd decides to clinch he's leaving himself unguarded long enough for a straight left, right hook combo and for that reason, I don't think he'll be playing the clinch game, especially with Manny's lightning quick footwork.

Manny is a horrible inside fighter. He will get ****ed up on the inside by Floyd. You don't **** about boxing bc if you did you would know that on the inside the Southpaw advantage is gone bc both fighters are squared up. Floyd will go to his Philly Shell defense on the inside with Manny and will shift back and forth landing right uppercuts to the head and body and then hitting him with left hands to the body as he shifts. Go join a boxing gym dude.:hammertime

All you have to do is watch Mosley vs Wright and it shows you how to beat Mosley. Mosley has had problems with boxers his entire career. Wright beat him with just the jab alone. Floyd's legs are far from gone and even if he slowed down he is a pure boxer with defense. Hell the only reason Hopkins is still fighting at a top level at 45 is bc of his defense and IQ. Floyd could fight well until he is 40 years old and still be undefeated.
