now we all know sugar ray robinson and sugar ray leonard were absolute ATG

    but is shane mosley

has he fully lived up to his name and made promise of the word sugar to be used when introducing him

or have losses to lesser opponents and bad career choices with weight and opponents ruined his legacy, aswell as admitting to being a roider

He is a great fighter and has done well, but to truly earn the 'sugar' status you had to be really something special like SRL or SRR

    hmmm...floyd ' sugar ' mayweather :D

I say no. He isn't on the level of the two Sugar Rays. He is a great fighter though.

I think his resume, skills, and athleticism qualify him. People underrate him due to his aging years and forget the fighter he was. I remember SRL saying he had earned the name after his performance against Oscar.

Yea he ain't as great as the other two but shane mosley fought the best and beat some of them.

His resume is solid with wins over
    Jesse James Leija
    oscar delahoya 2x
    Fernando Vargas 2x
    luis collazo
    antonio margarito

He's a great fighter with or without the roids and is a first ballot HOF, but he's no sugar. We're talking about the 2 best welterweights of all time in Leonard and Robinson.

I think he ranks somewhere in between Leonard or Robinson, and Seales.
