If you watch Trinidad what he liked to do was edge his left foot closer and closer, infact when you watch him you can see him doing this, only that hurt him against Hopkins imo, as Hopkins was able to see that he needed to get set before he uncorked the left hook, therefore Hopkins would move laterally to offset him, and break his concentration with the odd right hand when he was thinking about getting set to throw. The finish was impressive to, Hopkins caught the left hook on the right glove, then countered with the same hand with a right hand/hook, tis a great old school shot that I love, I seem to remember Bert Cooper used to do it to.
Great video that could be used as a tutorial on "How to throw a left hook". His hook is quick and powerful and the reason for so many "***** street" reactions. If his opponents didn't fall down straight away, they look to be stepping in post holes before they fell.
