Correct. Vitali offered Valuev his biggest payday ever, even though he didn't have the WBA belt anymore.

I would've loved to see either Klitschko fight the Giant since they wouldn't enjoy their usual size advantage and they could be the first to KO him, especially Wlad with his power.

What's with all the Valuev hate? We all know he's technically undefeated, why else would he have 'lost' only a split decision and majority decision. Looking at his record tells you they were both robberies, both conjured up to stop him because he was so dominant and the sport was becoming uncompetitive. This must be anti-Russian based.

Vitali wanted Valuev last year instead of Briggs, but Valuev was hurt. Big guys like Valuev don't get worse in their old age either so we cant expect this fight to happen maybe this year if NV recovers from his injury.

Clearly a post count is not indictive of knowledge becuase if you actually followed the sport rather than spent your weeks posting crap you'd know Vitali tried desperately to get Valuev to fight him; twice. Even so far as going to Russia to speak to him in person!

The five intangibles of a successful fighter are speed, reflex, power, chin, and heart.
Age doent make you lose heart unless you have taken severe beatings, which MOST big men don't.
Age doesnt weaken your grill, but rather strengthens it as your heart typically increases with age and success. Both of which Valuev, one of my favorite fighters has done.
Yes, age decreases reflex and speed, neither of which big men typically need since their size allows them extra distance to parry shots or absorb them while leaning back, ie Vitali and Valuev, both masters of taking power shots off the shoulder, decreasing their effectivness.

Power is SOMETIMES lessened with age, but rarely does a big man lose his onepunch power as he ages. Most big guys like Mercer and Witherspoon and even Vitali look even stronger as their bodies filled out near the end of their careers.

Point is, guys like Valuev and Vitali could be effective into their mid 40s so long as their not matched against potshotter who could outpoint them over the distance.

Look at big George. He came back @ what 36, big and fat, and always seemed to be able to finish a fight with a KO @ any given time.

I see Valuev being a factor until HE himself is ready to hang em up. Granite chin, good power, and heart that is nearly unmatched. He'll be a top 15 as long as he WANTS!

Stopped here. Stamina? Strength? Timing? Accuracy? Sharpness? Ring generalmanship? Range control? [Amongst others]. Valuev doesn't rely on any of those you mentioned apart from his chin at times, so explain that.

I know you'd bring up Foreman. You are bringing up a guy with serious one-punch knockout power and more physical strength than perhaps any heavyweight ever overall, who took a 10 year break in between careers, and then developed a jab and some sort of ring IQ.

Very rarely does that happen, Lennox Lewis was a big guy who declined with age for one. Many others have, you can't just generalize and say that all bigger guys can stay on top for longer. That's a poor assumption to make.

 

i think valuev wwas the reason y he didnt fight neone. he finally fought haye and he retired him . who else did he fight monte barret . and he lose to chageve and he lost to holyfield clearly the judges just had there heads up there ass. valuev sucks he just ****in huge thats it hes a bumhunter safety first monster hes such a slob . and just his size is the only thing he gots goin 4 him . so valeuv is ffor sure scard of the bros and the fite will never happen and valuev will prolly not fite again
