It doesn't matter what Calzaghe said. The fact is, his 5 best wins are Mikkel Kessler, Robin Reid, Bernard Hopkins, Chris Eubank, Sakio Bika.

BHop was 43 but still a very good fighter, in fact he was world champion at that moment. Eubank was weight-drained, but still it was a 31 year-old Chris Eubank, and you can't just say he was shot. Robin Reid was a great fighter in his prime, and although I think Calzaghe lost to him, it's oficially called a win for Joe.

    How?

I like chicken, it's one of my top 3 favourite foods. If you don't like chicken yourself does that make it bull****? Course not, it's just your opinion.

At one stage he said something on the lines of Jones being in another dimension from everyone else when Jones was prime

His son came to him crying before the fight Jones saying he saw some Jones and was worried for his father to which he replied 'don't worry son, it isn't that same Roy Jones anymore'

*THIS VIDEO IS ON YOUTUBE: 'Roy Jones jr looks ahead to Calzaghe'*

Steve Bunce: When did Joe first pop up in a conversation?

Roy Jones: When he beat Chris Eubank I started watching him then.

    Steve Bunce: 1997

Roy Jones: I knew it then...but he then kinda backed down on the opponents he was fighting so I RELEASED THE IDEA OF IT [fighting Joe].

So Jones admitts he was aware of Joe early on, but wasn't interested in fighting him.

Which is true, Calzaghe was fed weak opposition by Warren, Cazlaghe never got on the US networks because of this and thats why it wasn't a big fight

Add to that Calzaghe continually said he wouldn't fight abroad because 'I'm scared of flying'

Come on, the videos his son watched would have been from the mid-late nineties. Joe was trying to calm his son down.We all know that Roy was not the same fighter in 2008.

Calzaghe fought Roy because he had alwys wanted to. Even Roy admits this. But the fight was easy to make in 2008. They promoted it themselves and split the money 50/50. They had one meeting face-to-face and the fight was done.

Remember Roy turned down Joe when he had everything to lose. He wanted Joe when he had nothing to lose and everything to gain.

I think top three as biggest name...

But not as credible opposition as Jones was indeed way past prime. It's not even the toughest fight as Calzaghe made beating Jones veeeery easy.

I am a JC fan, but I can 't deny his opposition was very questionable. I can't say he is over rated but we'll never know how good he was...

    His three best wins:
    1) BHop: even though many people claim BHop is past prime, it's still a good win as BHop is always dangerous and game.. and BEATING THE SNOT OUT OF YOUNGER FIGHTERS TODAY!!!!
    2) Kessler: Regarded as arguably the best SMW at that time, unified two titles and is regarded as one of the best even today...
    3) Robin Reid: even though he came from a loss, he proved he still had it, by giving JC a tough fight and by being robbed against Ottke after a winning display years later...

In 1999, Jones was the #1 p4p fighter in boxing. Calzaghe was known only to hard core boxing fans in the U.S. Why would the fight have been made?

Also, don't sleep on JC's win over Lacy. At the time, Lacy was undefeated and supposed to be the next Tyson. I recall almost everyone on ESB was picking Lacy in March of 2006.

Yep. Lacy was gonna knock Calzaghe out and bring the title back to the States. That was of course until Calzaghe beat him like a ginger headed stepchild and he became a bum and never any good in the first place, obviously.

joes legend still continues to grow due to the victories of men he defeated like hopkins and kessler :happy

46 and 0, all roads will always lead to joe calzaghe :deal

:patsch How is that the same thing?! Woeful post.

When you say "chicken is my favourite food", are you evaluating different aspects of the chicken, such as the quality of opponent, quality of performance, and other relevant circumstances? :patsch:patsch

When someone says "top win" in boxing, they do not mean "favourite win", no-one gives a **** about favourites, saying "top" implies a rating and ranking of the win after consideration of the criteria outlined above. If he meant favourite, he would have said favourite. :patsch:patsch:patsch

You have just produced one of the most feeble posts/arguments ever seen on this board. :deal

Bear in mind, two fights prior to facing Joe, Reid had been UD'd by a 42 year old who was coming off a loss and had a 41-10 record at the time. :deal
