I'm just showing an example of this technique like reznick asked, you unapologetic knuckledragging mouthbreather.

You think Louis was going to have all his 20+ defenses against top notch competition?

Turkey Thompson and Lee Q. Murray did their best work while Louis was in the army anyway. The two black contenders who had a legitimate chance of challenging Joe Louis were Elmer Ray and Lem Franklin. I can hardly blame Louis for not fighting them, as Franklin was soon exposed by Louis gatekeeper Bob Pastor, while Ray was beaten by Charles & Walcott in rematches.

I agree that Ray, really, is the name. But as you say Pastor knocked him off.

I haven't heard of it being illegal Mac, maybe if you held the hand/arm down and punched it would be classed as holding and hitting, otherwise isn't it technically a jab set up, even if the jab is parrying away the guard

'Lammin' Lem Franklin's best days were in 1940/1941.

    When he was age 24/25.
At 6' 2" 202 lbs., he had the size, hand-speed and dangerous power.
Best mark was 29-5-1 (26 KO's), right after he demolished Abe Simon.

    By 1943, he was done.

  7. son are you angry?

the point of reznick was, that louis did it to james bradock, not against a simple bum like tyson did against jonhson

Actually, he never mentioned anything of the sort about the level of competition. I understand english isn't your strong point, but he was asking about the maneuver itself. Either way, going out of your way to ***** about Tyson doesn't make much sense in the context of the topic.

    And no i'm not angry.

I think that Franklin had the strongest claim for a title fight of any black contender in the period when Louis was active. Unfortunately he fell apart verry quickly while he was at the top of the division.

Another guy that was as good or better than the 'white contenders'

    Eddie 'The Dark Spoiler' Blunt
    Queens, New York

    Had size 6' 0" 215 lbs.
    Labeled the next 'Sam Langford'

In mid-1940, after knocking out Abe Simon, he was 30-9-3 (13 KO's).
Though he had a few losses, he was no easy guy to tangle with.

I don't know if you've noticed, but even the first names you offered up are being torn down around you...

Your latest offering was knocked off by Galento in 36. You could give him a pass on that one. Mann beat him the following year. See the pattern yet? Both these guys got title fights.

He did beat Simon in 1940, but he was also KO'd in five by Franklin.

When this guy was supposed to have had a title shot I don't know.

  15. he never mentioned nothing about the level of competition, but it is a obvious thing, any person with brain can understand it. it was not just the blows of louis, the exceptional thing was that he did it against braddock, any puncher can do it against a bum.(the english is not matter). and you are Obsessed with tyson
