Haven't seen Joppy vs Duran (will look for that one), but I agree 100% with you on the others. 38 year old Ali looked like he was 50, only his amazing chin held him upright, Louis even made Marciano cry and Leonard just had it coming.
He looked like a complete and utter tool doing so, and he has to live with that epic fail footage, so I bet he regrets it now!
i know he's not an all time great but, arturo gatti against alfonso gomez. gomez could'nt miss him, everything he threw gatti took full on. that last big punch that ended it all, i really did'nt want to have to see gatti take that. sad end to a great career.
yes it was, but gomez is nowhere near the fighter floyd is. thats why for me the gomez beating was sadder.
thats true, one thing I also dislike is when a great fighter is past it and fight someone who is way below their level, he loses and then the other guy starts bragging about beating a legend and how awesome he is.
This is a no-brainer: Young Muhammad Ali vs 46 year-old Archie Moore! Brutal beating; Ali was in his pure prime, and Moore was shot beyond belief. This content is protected
Before the Marciano beating, Joe Louis had won 8 of his nine comeback fights, with his only loss being the decision dropped to champion Ezzard Charles. Louis wasn't shot. He was past his prime, but not as much as most think. Chris Eubank wasn't shot either when he fought Thompson. He just got cut really badly. He was doing rather well besides that. Anyway, the most brutal beating has to be Tyson-Holmes.
Wow those are some seriously AWFUL & BRUTAL pics. Ouch. Tyson looks fatter than I remember in that lewis match. LOL Look at Oscar
Oft overlooked fight but a clear shame, nothing more than using the name of a legend to bolster the resume of a decent fighter who would go onto be inconsistent and irrelevant in the grand scheme of things. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ngDJ2cCpR4o[/ame] For those who haven't seen it.
I woulden't consider Holmes shot. Certainly past his best but he still achieved enough and had enough skills to be considered a good fighter. He just didn't produce against Tyson for whatever reason.
