There have been a few times i can remember recently where i have got hyped up for fights only for the person on the night to put in a performance way below of what is capable of them.

Recently i can think of Witter in the Alexander fight

I was certain Witter had the experience and skill to put this young upstart in his place and avenge his defeat to Bradley but on the night he seemed to put in a lacklustre performance.

Any fighters performances where you have been left disappointed?

I can understand your reasoning but firstly you must have been a bit of a fool to expect Audley to ever really mount any serious challenge

Paulie Malignaggi was seriously dissapointing in the Hatton fight.

Paul smith against degale. I just thought it would be so much more competitive. Being a massive fan it was the biggest dissapointment magnified.

Also clev in his last fight. Made me wonder if his rapid progression might need slowing down a bit

Kevin Mitchell against Katsidis. I really fancied him to do the job. :-(

Pascal in the Hopkins fight. The froch fight made me a fan of Pascal but he seemed give up after knocking down Hopkins and gassed badly

In all fairness the evidence we had at the time seemed to suggest he stood a decent chance

Convincing victory over Prescott demolished the Columbian in his next fight with that peach of an uppercut but then we all know what happened next.....

Malignaggi against Hatton. Although he wasn't performing prior i always had impression it may be to do with needing big fights. On the night he had one decent round and then downhill from then on.

Allan Green vs Ward. Never expected him to win (other then punchers chance) but at least bloody try! Considering the chance he was given.

There's so many....i will be back!
