Assuming the fight is made. David Haye came in at 210lbs (15st) against Harrison, this was his lightest yet at Heavyweight and almost a stone lighter (222) than his previous fight against Ruiz. He gave up over 40lbs against Harrison in that fight although he didn't appear to show any loss in power. What weight do you think he either should or will come in at against Wlad Klitschko?
This. Booth has said many times that Hayes weight is a reflection of how well training has gone and not down to any particular fight plan. The lighter the better.
He was always going to batter Harrison but it looks like he trained for speed for that fight. I can't see Haye trading with either Klitschko so I suspect he will train with the view to staying on his toes and keeping Wlad moving and chasing him. Haye also had some stamina issues in the Ruiz fight and the extra weight probably didn't help him. I reckon 15 stone or 210lbs is a good weight for Haye and the extra size at 220lbs probably doesn't increase his punch power considering he would lose a bit in terms of speed, snap, athleticism, timing, and leverage. Most of the heaviest hitters in history were 215 or less.
Haye at any weight gets his ass kicked. Let him be any weight, outcome is already written in stone. Haye is KTFO. End of story.
These comments saying Haye will lose at any weight are completely useless in this thread, I'm sure there is a Haye doesnt have a chance thread somewhere on these boards so maybe you should just leave it in there. The question is at what weight would David Haye be best prepared to take on wlad if you dont care to answer it or care about other peoples opinions on it F**k off to talk about how great wlad is and how shocking Haye is. Now to answer the question 215 is the best weight for Haye I think he was a little too lightweight against Harrison although him and booth "assured" us it was planned i think he needs a few more pounds to get behind the knockout punches
210-215 is probably ideal weight for him. But for the sake of the canvas I hope he comes as light as possible.
I think if there's anything these guys should know by now it's that weight is self-limiting and more weight does not equal a better performance. Watch Chambers VS Peter then VS Dimitrenko. He should weigh in where he feels most fit. If that's 215, then 215.
This. 210-215. Even if Haye can look fit and muscular at 225, the extra weight could be a liability if it limits Haye's stamina. He's not looking to impose size on Klitschko. Most likely he'll avoid clinches, stay light on his feet.
