"We wanted to do the fight April 30 with Haye. We had two stadiums available in Germany, and coming to Germany was not a problem for Haye," Boente said.

"They only wanted neutral officials, judges, referee, all that. That is no problem. We agreed on all the points, but the major issue was Sky was not willing to do a second pay-per-view in April."

Junior welterweight titlist Amir Khan is slated to fight April 16 in England on Sky Box Office, even though he does not have a set opponent.

The Hayelords now look stupid. At least we found out how important Haye is to Sky compared to Khan.

thats what you get for fighting harrison

anyway i think its more to do with the royal wedding as the media coverage required for a fight of this magnitude will be all tied up

I think because all Klit fights are already on RTL but SKY will bring in the additional PPV money (according the Haye's camp - SKY will bring in over 66% of the TV money for the fight).

Boente is a liar. The idea that Haye would be pushed behind Khan is laughable. Truly laughable. It's a non-issue, so it's disgusting to hear Boente make excuses like this.

    Sky had a choice:

Promote a fighter that has the potential to become the next Ricky Hatton, or someone who will retire by the end of 2011 (as Haye said himself), and they chose the first. I can't blame them really. Amir Khan is a BIG part of ratings pull for Sky, they interview him every week whenever he's in the UK.

I see you don't understand. If Haye doesn't bring UK TV he doesn't bring ****. 50-50 is a joke deal in the first place but that's the only way to get Haye to the table, but without UK television he'd only generate like 20%.

Do you think Haye would take the 20%?

Yup, Khan is moving up in the world m8, whether you like it or not.

I look forward to the unification bout with Bradley. Amazing opportunity for a young fighter don't you think? :)

Haye completely exploited the public from his previous fight, leaving a sour taste in mouth of most fans who paid good money to watch a "contest", and Sky know it - Khan on the other hand produced an exhilarating display.
Which fighter would you favour if you were Sky??
