That's ridiculous. They thought he was actually threatening the president?

He shouldn't have said "knock some sense into" him... that was stupid. Everyone knows that youcan not threaten a sitting president. You can say that you hate them, disagree with every one of their policies, that they should be thrown out of office... but you can't toss out a threat like that.

But I agree Obamacare is a sham. Its just another way for private industry to make billions of dollars. When every American is forcedto buy health insurance they will just continue to jack the rates and find ways to cut costs at the same time.

Our political system is totally corrupt from your town mayor all the way up to congress and the white house.

Wow I mean 47 years ago the Secret Service just walks away from the President and allows him to be shot now they follow up on everything.

Well, it is true that he can say whatever he wants (and the same goes for the rest of us), but there may be consequences for those words.
Making threats against the president is not a good idea, since the secret service has to be extremely vigilant about investigating stuff that might seem minor.

Yes, I agree, this situation with Volkmann is ultimately pretty silly since it's obvious he has no real intent to physically harm Obama, and was just making a political statement.

But let's not mistake freedom of speech with uttering threats of violence. They aren't the same thing if there is reason to believe that the threats could lead to actual violence.
