Yeah, "Where's my ****ing tie, Clarence?" I think it was. Pretty rough decision by Sky to sack him over that, as said he was pretty clued-on for commentary.

For instance, I vaguely seem to recall he was on the British commentary for Holyfield-Douglas and said extremely early on that Douglas was looking 'shot' and would lose.

One of my favourite domestic fighters and a kent lad too. Twas me that added his page to wikipedia, shame I had to hear about his death on that very same page.

I remember watching the commentary and there were 3 commentators and Gary said Holyfield would win within seconds of the fight starting and the other commentators, maybe Colin Hart and Dempsey my memory's ****ed, were having a go at him saying he could no way say that so early in the fight but he stuck to his guns.

A sad loss.

 

not sure if its been mentioned already but someone has been arrested for causing death by dangerous driving
