Primo Carnera was italian, unless u meant Jess Willard? Tallest boxer I can think of who ever competed (even briefly) was John Rankin at 7.4/224cm http://boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_id=207604&cat=boxer

Tallest boxer of recent note would of course be Sugar Nikolai Valuev.

The overwhelming majority of boxers (and people in general for that matter) use a slightly exaggerated height.

He might be 6 foot 5.75 straight out of bed or in shoes or something, but in general a 6'5 kind of guy.

considering dwight howard is 6' 11" you can pretty much guarantee he's taller than that. i'm betting he's between 6' 6" and 6' 7".

He's about 6'7 You can see how much taller he is then well, just about everyone!
He probably likes to underestimate his height because he gets flack for being a bigger guy beating up people smaller then himself.

I would say you'd say the opposite. Makes no psychological sense to want to be a smaller opponent. If you build yourself up in reputation it can help you out-psych your opponent if you appear to be a giant

Dwight Howard is a big mother****er.........BUT..........he is also a genuine nice guy and wouldn't hurt a fly. it is more than size. You need a big guy crazy like Artest!! But even he isn't THIS crazy. It takes alot to want to be in sport where the other guy wants to kill you.......but yeah, the NBA guy's dwarf the Klitz......but they dwarfed Tyson too....they still played basketball........so???:huh

From all accounts he is closer to 6'7" than 6'5". Anytime that he has faced a fighter who was listed as 6'5" or 6"6", Wlad was noticably taller.

Fighters actually meet each other, so just going around saying how big you are isn't that much of a boost. I guess if you wanted the effect you are going for, they would wear lifts to the pressers or walk around on their tip toes. In fact, if you exaggerate your height, when you show up, it would be a relief to the opponent to see you are not all that big. If you underestimate it, they think you are the same size as them, then you show up and you are looking down at them, that is more intimidating.

If America was popular in the US? Good point. America has definitely become virtually unknown in the US.
