    Why is it surreal?

The board are entitled to receive criticism for allowing the fight to go ahead....... it's not as if there is no evidence of Audley fighting like a startled rabbit.

You just can't bear any criticism of your hero :hey

Good, deserves every penny of it. He's crap and is scared to throw a punch? We knew that years ago, not really his fault, the fight should never have gone ahead but as long as David gets his easy pay day thats all that matters.

Audley's the only one who actually deserved any money, it's him who sold it, and it's him who took some punches!

Out of spite, I was up for seeing Audley fined - but the fault really does lie with the WBA. In a non-corrupt world, the WBA president would have just said "not a ****ing chance" and forced Haye to fight someone else.

I'm glad he got his money, he deserved it. He got in there and did what he always does. He got up after being knocked down too. It's the publics fault for buying into it.

    £1.5 million for one punch.

Damn, I wish I could get that kind of work!

Are there any bigger pay days in boxing history in terms of punches per £ ?

Who opted to stand in the ring and do nothing?

Audley had the only opportunity he's likely to get to win a world title. And he stood there like an idiot, waiting to be taken out.

People talk as if Haye hypnotised him or something and Audley couldn't fight back. Haye at least did his job in the third round. Audley barely even turned up.

And Beeston, Haye's not my hero - I wouldn't even say he's one of my favourite fighters. But the **** he's getting for Audley is just bizarre.

I don't really see how one can blame Booth or Haye. Quality assurance from both governing bodies and (even more importantly) TV companies should have addressed this.

Booth and Haye were ALWAYS consistent - that Audley didn't really belong in the ring and he would get battered early.
