Before Bradley and Alexander square off and with amir khans win over maidana recently, was just wondering who do you guys rank at the top of the tree??
Champion : Vacant 1. Bradley 2. Khan 3. Kotelnik 4. Maidana 5. Alexander If Alexander beats Bradley Champion: Vacant 1. Khan 2. Kotelnik 3. Alexander 4. Maidana 5. Bradley
Champion: Vacant 1. Bradley 2. Khan 3. Alexander 4. Kotelnik 5. Maidana If Bradley wins, Alexander drops to 4 or 5 depending on how he lost. If Alexander wins vs. Bradley: Champion: Vacant 1. Khan 2. Alexander 3. Bradley 4. Kotelnik 5. Maidana
x2. What's happening with Kotelnik anyway? I'd like to see him get back in the mix. Preferably a rematch with Alexander.
For me its Khan , i believe Khans win / performance over Maidana eclipses anything Bradley (Peterson , Witter , Campbell) or Alexander (Kotelnik , Urango) have done @140 , but its close , Bradley and Alexander are 2 very very talented fighters in a talent rich division . I think the winner of Alexander Bradley by default gets the no 1 slot due to volume and level of opposition faced plus a P4P ranking
Not for me, considering Alexander/Kotelnik, unless Alexander totally dominates Bradley (wide UD or KO in a one-sided fight). Consider how their last five wins would look like: ALEXANDER: Tim Bradley Andriy Kotelnik Juan Urango Junior Witter Jesus Rodriguez KHAN: Marcos Maidana Paul Malignaggi Dmitriy Salita Andriy Kotelnik Marco Antonio Barrera Only the Bradley win would eclipse Khan's wins.
I dont know why so many have Bradley above Alexander as Bradley fights Witter to a SD, yet Alexander stops him, Alexander also KOd Urango in a unification bout which was a bigger win than any of Bradleys after Witter, later Alexander gets a decision over former WBA champ Kotelnik which was also a better result than say Peterson or Holt on Bradleys resume. Sure Alexander may have been exposed a bit by Kotelnik but Bradley was put down twice by Holt and fought to a close decision and Holt was stopped in his next fight by a relatively unknown. Khan beating Kotelnik clearly, undefeated but untested Salita and Maidana is arguably as good as Bradleys resume
