Interesting read. I feel a bit sorry for Dolphil they are really trying to make a go of it and are clearly dissappointed that Byrne didnt sign for them - it would have been a great signing for them. But, I can understand Byrne's reluctance, as he is meant to be a talented fighter (I havent seen him yet - but I get the impression he is rated) and a four year deal with no guarantees with tv is a leap of faith.

What is his manager Steve Feder doing for him?

I would love to see McCloskey get his title shot, he deserves a crack. A lot of people are going over board about Khan and his win over Madiana. Before the fight, I thought Khan would have beat him easier but he was an easy punch bag in the tenth round. The fact that he proved he has a chin and came through that war has made people forget that his shocking defence ensured that he took all that punishment.

Khan is favourite alright, but McCloskey has a great chance here, and Khan will definitely miss a lot of shots against McCloskey. He needs a good, smart gameplan to give Khan a nightmare fight.

NEVIN WON 3-0, BOXER BRILLIANT AS USUAL. Opponent beat the Euro champ Markov earlier this year. Scores 50-45(correct) 49-46 and a crazy judge 48-47

When is O'Kane boxing in it, must be soon? He should have been in decent enough shape before he even went out there. Was training twice a day leading upto his "pro" debut

The WSB is great stuff IMO. The duration of 5 rounds, the rules set and the big selling point of it been between two pretty evenly matched fighters of world or near world class makes great boxing. When were any of us at a pro show with 5 even exciting fights between class operators-answer never?
Nevin has looked sheer class and will now go back on top of the individual ratings-the only danger is one of his main rivals is a fellow Paris united boxer who might get favourite treatment from the French eg away wins are worth more as are stoppage wins and also the scores from each fight-JJN has got all the tough ones so far but it hasn't bothered him.
Dont know when O'Kane is on as the teams are not announced until 72 hours before the fights but probably next jan 28 against Paris in a must win fight for Milan, McCarthy could box too as Milan are a bit weak at these weights.
JJ Joyce lost 3-0 in his debut, his opponent was good, his prep short and the weight is really middleweight.

Few interesting answers from Dan Rafaels chat today with regard to Casey v Rigo and Lee v Duddy. I think it's a big mistake for Lee not to have Steward in the corner and it could be something he lives to regret if Duddy ends up dragging him into a war. Dissapointing too that Casey v Rigo wont be seen in the US, the Yanks would love Willie!

Surely this is the time for Jamie Kavanagh to make his debut on this side of the pond as well?
