If Roy stayed at heavy, stayed away from lewis had a few title defences would he be a top 3 A.T.G? , I rate him top 10 now on his acheviements by the way!

Naw, I don't think there was much Roy could do given the opponents available to be a top 3 atg, but I think his prime would have lasted longer if he stayed at Light Heavy and didn't go to heavy and come back down

  3. who should he have fought, ruiz win was a good win for him he should have stopped then or after tarver 1. Now he ****s his legacy up so we get threads like why ranks higher floyd or jones jr?... while back then if he had stopped after tarver one he would be top 10.

    no

but, he would be remembered much better if he retired after the ruiz fight.

First of all he is not a top 10! second, who the hell would he face if he had stayed at heavy and BEAT at that time to enhance his legacy further up the atg list? as you mentioned him not fighting lewis?

Should have dropped to Cruiser and got a title there then retired imo. He was what 190-195 anyway?

I agree with this also. He would have retired with his aurora of invincibility also and wouldn't be called a glass jaw bum anymore

No, but had he stayed and made a few defenses, then retired, he would be remembered much more fondly than he is now. Fans are very fickle. Even if he had lost at hw, he had that built in excuse that the weight may have just been too much, even for the fickle ones that might have been enough.

but coming back down, then suffering a series of KO losses, it seems to have left an impression and served to taint some peoples perception of him. A shame really.

depends, as bball pointed out there weren't a lot out there. feasting on a few lower end contenders may have helped establish a mini legacy at heavy but not done a ton overall
