You obviously don't understand sarcasm, or at least, you fail to see the sarcasm in that comment. It's a joke.

Fighting Weight, I give you props for your consistent post here. What most people don't get is that this like most images are just typical "cookie cutter" PR crap.

What also most don't get is that Ricky is doing EXACTLY what you all accuse Floyd of doing save he's not flashing money. He's flashing his, "hey, I'm an all Brit type of regular ordinary guy. See look at me, I play darts like you. See, I love not too far from my parents". Meantime when he looks at his banking statement I'm certain he's NOT thinking, "oh what a commoner I really am".

Whether its real or not is of no real concern to me.

I like Floyd because despite all the excessive blinging, he's DEDICATeD to his sport. You've NEVER seen him blow up excessively in between fights has he?? So it's pretty obvious that regardless of whats thought of his personality, he's NOT gonna bite the hand (his talent) that feeds him and he's gonna take care of himself unlike some "down to earth, I'm just a regular guy" right?

Hatton has almost become a victim of his own persona. Hatton has always been approachable, about 5 years ago I was in a local kebab shop in Hyde in the wee hours and Hatton was in there. He initiaited conversation with me which was a surprise considering that even 5 years ago he was quite big in the UK especially Manchester. He was exactly as he describes himself, down to earth, sincere and an honest person. No agenda, no fraudery just a nice fella.

Every outlet selling/promoting his fights have latched onto what was an excellent selling point for Ricky Hatton. The fact he is so approachable, the fact he does mingle with mere mortals rather than living in a gated, multi acre property and only attending VIP only events, has been jumped upon.

Every Hatton interview, especially for this bout, where he is facing an over the top - in your face, self confident, materialistic fighter, he is talking about his down to earthness. I too wish he would hold back. It's obvious the theme for the PR of this fight are the two vastly contrasting lifestyle, and thus both fighters keep harping on about their lifestyles. Mayweather in glitzy Las Vegas. Hatton training in an old Victorian Mill with crude boxing equipment in Denton, Manchester.

As much as the build up has interested me, I think there has been serious overkill and dramatisation of the fighters lifestyles. It does become a tad tedious and doesn't do Ricky any favours.

I don't know if anyone's seen Katy Brands Big Ass Show on ITV2, but Hatton reminds me of her "Normal Kate Winslet" character!!

I do like Hatton, but he's slowly becoming a parody of himself!!

Dunky, surely to **** he's allowed the odd luxury? I know he bangs on about being normal and down-to-earth and stuff but he's earnt a lot of money fair and square doing what he does. Are we saying that he isn't allowed to splash out every now and then simpy because he likes to portray himself as a regular joe? FFS, someone on here the other day was implying that he's some kind of hypocrite for wearing a Rolex on holiday. Perhaps he should've just spent a tenner on a fake one eh?!! I'd like to think that if I suddenly became awash with cash that I could still stay close to my roots but by the same token I'd have every right to spend some of that money on the finer things in life as I'm sure you would?

He doesn't always sit in that box - at the pre-season season friendly against Valencia he and his mates sat amongst the rest of us riff-raff. And I suppose you could argue by taking that box he's ploughing good money into the club he supports rather than being a tight-arse and keeping it in his pocket!

When we look at Hatton and Mayweather, we see two totally contrasting lifestyles but both have earned their money and are entitled to spend it how they wish. PBF's way is to buy flash cars and stuff, while Hatton's is to not quite go so over the top on the luxuries. I don't have a problem at all with Mayweather and how he splashes his cash - it's more to do with how far removed from every day life he appears to be. As seems to be the case with many rich and famous people. Having said that, I agree with Hatton's trainer Billy Graham that deep down Mayweather is probably a nice bloke. I've found some of the stuff he's come out with leading up to this fight as quite amusing and I think that shows that his PR is getting better.

Correction - not all people who watch matches from executive boxes are ****s, only some. If someone who is used to standing on the terraces in the pissing rain on a Wednesday night then goes on to make something of themselves and becomes quite wealthy as a result, then they've every right to invest in a box ffs!

If you know Villa fans with 10 times the money that Hatton has then that's a serious amount of cash (probably 60,70, or 80 million at a guess). So if they're as in touch with the rest of Villa's fans as you make out, why didn't they do all the rest of you fans a favour, club together, and buy that dithering old twat Deadly Doug out?!!!!

Perhaps he should live in total squalor eh?:patsch

At the end of the day he's still a damn sight more in touch with the average bloke on the street than 99.9% of rich and famous people. If you don't like the way he boxes, fine. I know there's plenty of people who find his style a total turn-off. But as a person, he's an all-round decent bloke, and 10 times the person than some on here:yep

You couldnt make this **** up Foq, on Sky Sports News earlier on today one of their reporters was in Manchester, visiting the greasy spoon cafe that Hatton supposedly frequents. So there he was, talking to the owner about Hattons love of a full english breakfast, & he ordered one, & yes, he sat & told us all about how there was black pudding, sausage, egg, beans & all that stuff & that how it nearly cme to a whopping 2000 calories.
Then he said, "Im going to try & eat the Hatton gutbuster breakfast" Sure enough he had a right good go, but couldnt finish it(surprise surprise) & then talked **** about how it truly was the breakfast of a champion:patsch

Oh aye, & the owner said people would regularly come in & order the Hatton gutbuster:-( There was pics of Hatton on the walls, but not a single picture of him in the ****in place! & you would think they would hve one if Hatton was in there so much slurping sugary tea & stuffing his face working class fry-ups every day!

sounds like the typical bias bollocks you expect from them.

dunky...did you see the part 3 of 24/7? his fans arriving?

The Hitman said of his fans: "They don't just support me, they worship me. They feel like they're my mates. Half of them are my mates."
