I've been doing tons of current rankings lately, recently did an all time top 3 for each division, and have done a couple of current p4p lists. I don't think I've ever done a top 10, or higher, all time heavyweight list.

These will mostly be in order, but don't hate on me yet. I'm going to be typing these out from memory, and may make significant changes with further thought.

    Fedor
    Nogueira
    Filipovic
    Josh Barnett
    Randy Couture
    Pedro Rizzo
    Cain Velasquez
    Fabricio Werdum
    JDS
    Brock Lesnar
    Shane Carwin
    Frank Mir
    Tim Sylvia
    Ricco Rodriguez
    Mark Coleman
    Kevin Randleman
    Pete Williams
    Arlovski
    Maurice Smith
    Mark Kerr

This may take me a while to sort out the list I'm willing to stand by. Please remind me of any names I may be leaving out. I don't know if I'm stopping at 10, doing a top 20, or taking this to 25.

Why do you have cain above sylvia and arlovski? Last time i check arlovski and sylvia defended their title multiple times before losing while cain has yet to defend it once.

I haven't got my order completely set yet, and may change it; but I'll go ahead and see if I can offer some food for thought.

Sylvia defeated Arlovski 2 out of 3. Mir defeated Sylvia, and Mir lost to Carwin and Lesnar. Cain beat Lesnar and Nogueira. Nogueira defeated Sylvia as well. Mir also defeated Nogueira. I think that the Nogueria fights occurred when he was past his best, hence his being rated way higher than this bunch. I think that the Nogueira that defeated Sylvia is not any better than the Nog that lost to Cain.

There are a lot of difficult things to weigh out when generating a list. Maurice Smith beat Coleman, but does he have enough on his resume to rank higher than Coleman? Same challenge is given concerning Pete Williams.

If this is about skill, Cro Cop cannot be third. And if it's about achievements, Cro Cop still cannot be third.

Can you mother****ers not read? It clearly states that I'm not done. So if you guys want to criticize the order, please wait until I'm finished.

The top 3 are set, though, so I'll respond to this complaint.

Who would you place above him besides Fedor and Nog? Barnett? Cro Cop is 3-0 against a prime Barnett, ko'd a prime Coleman, and split fights with prime Randleman, and defeated a prime Herring. Has wins against Wanderlei and Vovchanchyn.

Yeah, those names stood out right away for me too. I'd have both of them above Brock also. What about Frank Mir? Love him or hate him he's above Cain also.

How can Mir be above Cain, when Mir lost to Lesnar and Carwin? Lesnar split fights with Mir, and defeated Carwin. Carwin defeated Mir. So not only does Lesnar have the win over Mir, he beat someone else with a recent victory over Mir. Cain beat Lesnar. How can I put Mir ahead of Cain or Lesnar?

Mir defeated Sylvia, and also beat Nogueira after Nogueira defeated Sylvia. I think that puts Mir above Sylvia.

  12. If its all time then how and why are these guys even up? These fighters arent even proven much less some of the all time HW's, Brock especially havent achieved much. What a shitty list.

    JDS
    Brock Lesnar
    Shane Carwin
    Frank Mir
    Cain Velasquez

I dont even regard Randy as one of the all time greats especially when hes lost to so many people.

  13. How can JDS be up there when he lost to Joaquim Ferreira? or does these lost to x, y, z only apply when it suits a Zuffa fighter?

Or when a fighter goes on a 7 fight win streak that includes knocking out the man who submitted Fedor.
