He'd be closing in, but still would have a couple three good contenders/titleholders to go to match Lewis.

I agree, but he would also have to beat everybody he fought

He would have to beat three or four more contenders.

    No where ****ing near!!!!!!

Give me a break, Lewis beat Holyfield, Tyson, Bowe, Ruddock, Tua, Morrison, McCall, Mercer!!! The list goes on. Even Rahman is a better win than anything Wladdy comes close to, ffs. Wladdy will never get even CLOSE to Lewis' greatness. Beating Ibragimov and Povetkin dont mean **** againt Lewis' resume.

Wlads' best win is Sam Peter!!!! And you guys reckon he needs to beat 3 or 4 more contenders to rank alongside one of the greatest HW champs ever?

Why? What's it worth? What's the point in beating Puritty or Sanders now? Or what what's the worth of Lewis "beating" McCall in the rematch? I mean I could surely manage to get Ko'ed by McCall and than in the rematch hit that crying crackhead while he is not punching back until the referee stops the fight myself. :huh

Who knows, maybe Ibragimov and Povetkin might just stand there like the other bums and get their heads punched in. Don't count on it.

He's nothing until he beats the 3rd greatest heavyweight of all time, Mr. Audley Harrison.

Povetkin is better than any name Lewis has ever faced in a ring IMO.
    Morrison? A limited American clubfighter.
Mercer? Good heavy, but nothing special at all.
McCall? Good chin, but Gomez twice gave him a beating, and even Sinan Samil Sam didnt look that bad against him.
Bowe? He cant hold a candle to quite a lot of fighters Wlad has already beaten.
Hollyfield and Thyson are good names, but since they have fought almost all their fights inside the USA against American opposition at a time when there was no competition from fighters of the former soviet union they can hardly be called undispute all time greats.
Lewis was a great fighter, but so is Wlad.

Povetkin's best win is struggle against a guy that Wlad destroyed. He is not better "in a ring" than anyone Lewis fought. If Lewis had fought Povetkin he would have man handled. out jabbed, out powered, out boxed him and knocked him out.

If Wlad beats a guy with what mabye 15-16 fights it will mean nothing to me. Povetkin is a novice, the only reason he can get so far in so little fights is because of how bad that the heavyweight divison is to day.

Who have you got at #1 and #2 ?

John Ruiz and Kevin Mc Bride ?

Wlad is currently the best heavywt and under-rated, and is still in the process of creating his legacy.

Lewis is a top 5 ATG. I dont't think Wlad has cracked the top 15 list so far.

So yes, he has a waaaaaaaaaay to go yet.

Give me a break...Mercer, Morrison, Bowe, Holyfield, Tyson, and McCall are all more proven fighters than Povetkin. Prime versions of all of them beat this version of Povetkin - especially Holyfield, Bowe, and Tyson (and there is no disputing that). David Tua would have beaten Povetkin as well.

If Wladimir beats Ibragimov and Povetkin, he probably moves into the top 15 or 16 all time heavyweights, but not at the level of Lennox Lewis. Lennox would still be well ahead of him. Just compare their careers and resumes.

1)Lewis didn't even fight the prime versions of those fighters. While I would've picked Lewis over Bowe, they never fought period.

2)Povetkin would've fared much better than you think against those guys. AP's resume isn't as deep as a couple of names on there yet, but it's about as strong as you can get for only having 14 fights.
