khan is a bilistering combination puncher and a fine boxer but at times and especially for large moments of the maidana fight his defense is a little lazy. he sat on the ropes and took some huge shots from marcos. wouldnt khan benifit hugly by learning to move with the punches and make his opponant miss. he does'nt have to copy mayweathers defense but he could adapt his own way of avoiding shots in an active way instead of covering up and waiting out the storm of leather. he doesn't have pacmans chin or footwork so he cant work of the ropes like manny but he awsome reflexes so maybe something similar to floyd or even andre dirrell who has an excellent rexles based defense.

Fair point, but I disagree, mainly on his reflexes. I dont his reflexes are one of his better attributes. He can learn the footwork to use a style closer to Manny's without mimicking it, but I think he lacks the reflexes and inside game to get the most out of a shoulder roll.

IMO, his current style with a bit more concentration on his part for the full twelve is more than effective.

don't yopui think he could of used more head and body movement on the ropes against maidana. i mean he didnt need to run all the time because maidan couldn'tr ko him with a single shot. but it was the combinations on the ropes that were causing khan the problems. if he kept his eyes on maidana and riolled with some of the shots he could of missed maybe half of them.

Khan's idea of defence is to basically leg it around the ring.

So true. Blind himself behind his gloves and run circles around the ring. And when the opponent catches up, frantically throw quickly flurries to keep him off.

Boy does he need a lot of work in this department.

But it's still pretty weak. And he knows it. He really really really doesn't like pressure.

He doesn't do enough of that. Standing still and trying to tuck up in front of Maidana was not smart.
Made for a great fight though:yep

With a shoulder roll? Probably the greatest fighter of all times.

Khan needs to learn how to fight on the inside and move his head, instead of covering himself up in his shell.

Rather than implementing a shoulder roll would be better in my opinion. He's got all the athletic tools but needs to work on some ring smarts. Improved footwork would be better than adopting a style that relies heavily on reflexes and pot shotting. Khan for me is better suited to fighting in flurries and then getting out of the way.

No one style is better than the other, but some are better suited to certain boxers and I just dont think a shoulder roll plays to Khan's strengths.

Khan's got more chance of using a sausage roll than a shoulder roll, his defence is his weakest area...along with his inside work.

Although, I still rate him highly.

Khan needs to learn how to brake at zebra crossings.
