Hennessey on Botha rejection - "Decisions like this are killing the sport!"

Mick Hennessey, the man who has one of the best fighters in the World on Primetime sports...

 

How the hell can they deny Botha a fight but then nominate Skeleton who's 44 to fight! Something very wrong there.

 

Actually decisions like this would help the sport. It's just a shame they aren't consistent enough.

 

Skelton shouldn't be allowed to fight Fury either.

The board are right to reject Botha - he was worn down and stopped by Evander Holyfield less than a year ago...... not the sort of opponent Tyson needs right now.

Hennessy should just give up boxing and get a day job. He's an utterly shire promoter. Who else would have their nation's top fighter who is in big fights that are always entertaining on some shitty PPV channel that most people think televises porn or something.

Not many people could have screwed up the ITV deal as well as he did either.

 

Good decision by the BBBOC.

He's too old, been out of the ring too long and his recent comeback performances have certainly not indicated he will provide anything other than being a punching bag to a young british fighter.

Skelton has nothing to do with it, he has maintained his activity and also began later on in life.

 

Did he just compare Botha to George Foreman?

 

I'm surprised they're against this yet allow fights such as Herbie Hide v Wayne Brooks (or potentially Zahid Kahut) to take place in Prizefighter.

 

Consistency is the key and the bbbc doesnt have it imo bbbc needs a kick up the backside potentially could be a much better force for good in boxing in the UK but seems happy to sit back too often

 

Unless they've heard something behind the scenes it does seem a strange one to pick up on out of all the poor imports that get brought over here.
