It's with great sadness i inform you of the passing away of John McGuiness,John worked in the gym with Peter Harrison and myself for over 25 years,John gave all the boxers there circuits and was invaluable in the gym, he was one of Scottish boxings unsung hero.
John was such a gentleman and a dear friend, in all the time iv'e been in boxing John as always been there for me and i could never ever thank the man enough for that. John i love you and will always miss you.

The first time I ever went to the Phoenix i spent hours talking to John about about boxing. Ever since then he would always be the first to welcome me when I turned up to watch the likes of Scott Harrison and Willie Limond training. Even on fight night he would make time to come over over for a quick chat. He was a true gentleman for whom I had so much respect and admiration.

RIP John I will miss you very much
