Ugly mauling style, next to no defense, some of the mose ignorant and delusional fans ever (the chants were cringeworthy)... not really a big fan of Hatton really.

Still though, I don't hate him or anything. He put up a good fight against Mayweather I guess (better than most anyway).

 

No Gatti is being considered because of his wars with Ward and the first bout which was labelled as fight of the century.
If popularity is the criteria now then Sven Ottke must be in with a ood shout for routinely filling stadiums in Germany to watch his bore fests.

I cant belive how the tide tuned on him after the mayweather fight but hey thats "fans" for ya. In his prime he had a great chin and workrate and one of the best body attacks seen for awhile. By the time he made it to the top he was probably on the slide at little and the chase for Mayweather at 147 probably didnt do him many favours.

This post Pacquiao delusion that he was some sort of **** fighter is sheeple intelligence at it's finest. Hatton could walk through his opponents punches up to a certain stage in his age and career. Don't comment if you haven't watched all or most of his fights. What was he supposed to do? Turn into Pernell Whitaker at 30? He was what he was stylistically and it got him all the way to the top. He fought with calculated risk. The way Hatton could pogo in shifting his full body weight to alternating sides torquing body shots and uppercuts in combination was ****ing beautiful. People can't see that **** either.

 

its fashionable to bash Hatton but he had ability , he wasnt as good as he talked up sometimes and his career was never going to be a long one ( Style , body type , out of the gym antics all saw too that ) but at his best he was a ferocious and tough little bugger.

I still say he ducked Witter but he paid his dues elsewhere.

the guy was a 2 weight world champion who entertained for the best part of 40 fights, was a gent and genuinely funny man out of it and gave Floyd fits for 6 rounds before a bull**** point deduction at a weight he had only fought at once and wasn't comfortable at.

Makes me laugh when people say he couldn't box. I remember when everyone on here was saying Paulie was going to outbox him and hatton schooled Malignaggi all night and beat the 'speedster' to the punch all night

 

A fight against Witter would have been good for the fans... but Hatton didn't need it. Hatton had bigger fish to fry and Witter couldn't fill a 3000 seat stadium...

 

Indeed , while I am defending Hatton , he knew Witter was all wrong for him. Especially a peak Witter.

Im not saying the fight would've been a forgone conclusion but he did avoid him , theres no other way to see it !
